No limerick from me, this time, but just wanna say, thanks to the Baron! That was very cool! And to that ol' Craziest Of Ivans - that was AWESOME!

                This Spring's weather is blustery and damp;
Stifling, in my close quarters, quite, cramped,
                Drenched, like a Primeval Squid,
I throw, open, my coffin lid,
To wring, out, my soggy cape ruins this Vampire's vamp!

It is rumored that he is hundreds of years old,
but it is starting to tell with the Baron truth be told,
While he is quite free with his wit in fact,
I've noticed of late he is showing less tact,
Now it seems that I was right from wolf to vamp and now the cold.

In many a folklore and mythology
What seperates wolf from vamp is frivolity
To most ancient to medieval peoples
they were so similar it gives me the creep-les
Distinguishing between the two breeds of monster is mostly ideology

Seriously, check out this passage from Wikipedia's article on Greek Vampires:

Etymology

The very word vrykolakas is a cognate with a Lithuanian language word vilkolakis meaning the werewolf ('vilko-' means a wolf and 'lakis' means running). In Slavic languages it is variously occurring as , vǎrkolak, as in Bulgarian, vukodlak, as in Serbian, etc. The term is derived from вълк (vâlk)/вук (vuk), meaning "wolf" and dlaka, meaning "fur", and originally meant "werewolf" (it still has that meaning in the modern Slavic literary languages, and a similar one in Romanian: see vârcolac). However, the same word (in the form vukodlak) has come to be used in the sense of "vampire" in the folklore of Western Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro (while the term "vampir" is more common in Eastern Serbia, Republic of Macedonia and in Bulgaria). Apparently, the two concepts have become mixed.[1] Even in Bulgaria, original folklore generally describes the vârkolak as a sub-species of the vampire without any wolf-like features.[2] It may also be noted that the Sanskrit word for wolf is vṛ́k (commonly pronounced as vrik).

It must be catching as Ivan too is confused,
He does not know whether to howl or be transfused,
What he can do is look up the net,
So while he is looking for a knowledge mindset,
He is left in two minds but for our Hyde club he is refused.

As president of the Two minds club, I could pass judgement for a fee.

Oh, NO! My horrible, ancient, secret is out!
                          TV HORROR revealed, I'm a two-faced lout!
                          He took, to task, IVAN,
                          For his VAMP/WEREWOLF Jivin',
I'd HYDE, too, but, if the FEE ain't FREE, I'll SHOUT!

If having a split monster personality
Still leaves me out of the Hyde Club, then naturally
I'll add Frankenstein's Creature
For a mental Triple Feature
Maybe then I'll get invited, finally!

In olden times it was all the rage to fill your purse,
So it was off to Egypt's fair land to loot,
At first there were experts before they got the boot,
They too had wounds that they could nurse,
But the tombs resident stubbed his toe and gave a loud mummy's curse.

Maurice wrote about the Mummy's Curse
but he when he read the heiroglyphics
the effects were simply terrific
His newly composed limerick verse
had the whole rhyming scheme in reverse

That was harder that I thought it would be
There must be something perverse
about writing limericks in reverse
But on Bizarro-World it would be
A matter of fact; just too easy

Now there's a word you don't hear often,
Ivan using ancient texts for my heart to soften,
Nay my lad you need to go into the high specifics,
Before I learn to use those hieroglyphics,
For even one as dumb as me knows don't rattle a mummy's coffin.

Too true my friend, you're more cautious than that
You don't disturb mummies or vampire bats
But you did swallow a trickle
of that drink from Dr Jekyll
So you could probably stomp Kharis flat

TV HORROR possesses wit, brains and brawn,
                       If Trouble comes, you'll, wisely, find him, gone;
No, never, not, out, of fear,
Just, to the Pub, to buy more beer,
To "liquor up" the onslaught, of ZOMBIE LEPRECHAWNS!
