Keanu Reeves casted >:( is about to develop a split personality as the star of a modern retelling of "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde."

I THINK I AM GOING TO BE SICK,
I hate Keanu Reeves, he sucks as an actor and couldn't be more wrong for this part, we are all looking at a train wreck before it happens, He was ok only in the Biil and Ted Movies, never cared for him in Bram Stokers Dracula Speed didn't like Him.

Universal Pictures is developing the feature, with Justin Haythe, writer of "Revolutionary Road," penning the script. Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn, writer-director of the "Pusher" trilogy of gritty thrillers, is in negotiations to direct the project, titled "Jekyll."

Universal clearly is enamored with the tale and with Reeves; it also has been developing a take on it with filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, but the two adaptations couldn't be more different.

Del Toro, who has an affinity for Gothic horror as well as creature features, aims to stick more closely to the Stevenson tale. His project is on the back burner, though, as he works on "The Hobbit" for New Line and MGM, a project that's expected to take up the next five years.

This was mentioned somewhere on the forums before and I'm pretty sure there are no Keanu fans here...even if it weren't for his horrible casting they'll probably ruin any redo of Jekyll and Hyde with some horrible-oversized "Hulk" like Hyde...ala League of Extraordinary Gentlemen/Van Helsing....Mike since this is a modern retelling I'm assuming it would take place in the States and not in the U.K...though I could be wrong!?!

Spock

Maybe it could work

Keanu Reeves as Dr. Jekyll

and

Dick Van Dyke as Mr. Hyde

Then we could get two of the worse British accents for the price of one.  We could have Mary Poppins instead of Mary Kelly

>:D >:D >:D

I think Penny has a point there.

It is really a mixed emotion situation.  Kind of like watching your mother in law drive off a cliff . . . in your new car. :-\

Guillermo del Toro directing is a great idea.  But why Keanu Reeves?

This phrase has me puzzled: ". . . about to develop a split personality as the star . . ."
How does one split a non existant thing?   Does the Large Hadron Collider figure into it ?
