Tom,
You are sure having a rough patch, but you and your wife will make it through, I'm positive.  Last Spring, 3 months after losing my mom, I was in the process of moving from the farmhouse where I'd lived for 40 years (moving permanently into my mom's house, my old childhood home).  While I was in the process of moving my things, the farmhouse was broken into and robbed 3 days in a row--the farm itself, barns, cars, lawn furniture, everything out there, vandalized, broken, smashed.  Cops caught 2 KIDS in the house, and couldn't do anything (long story and a frustrating one!).  Most of my collections had no place to go in this smaller home I was moving into, and I had no choice but to pass it to friends who run an antiques mall, to sell it for me--140 cartons of collections (Civil War, German bisque figurines, presidential material, tons of 19th century stuff, etc) and 2 trailer loads of antique furniture--all sent away in less than 2 wks.  If this old fart of 60 (then) could bear up under losing 40 years of collecting, you young'uns will sail through just fine.  I managed to save most of my movie and horror collection (a handful of things were stolen, a handful broken, but 99% was saved), and ALL my family memorabilia.  I'm not saying it was easy--but it's do-able.  Hang in there.

Sorry to hear about the kitchen disaster, but as one of the other posts said, this will all be added to your original insurance claim. Better now than later....Your Zacherley package was mailed out today, hope it at least helps to provide some distraction from recent events.

Well,it seems like noone can locate the true owner of the home where the tree fell from.I'm argueing like Hell with my insurence company to get my roof fixed as theres another storm predicted for Sunday. You pay the damm preiums for years and then when you file a claim the company dosen't want to pay up! I told them if work wasn't started by tomorrow that I'd contact the TV news and let them run with the story.Hopefully this will get someone off their ass
and start getting repairs done to my house??? >:(

Who pays the taxes???  You think the city would be able to figure that out pretty fast.  Maybe you should claim ownership, forgo your insurance claim, and sell the property and use the money for your repairs.

To make matters worse my wife got a flat tire on her way home from work yesterday and didn't have a good spare in the trunk.By the time the car insurence company sent help 5 hrs had past. She didn't get home to after midnight!

Hang in there!  It will get better, even though it seems like the bad luck is never ending.  You've got a ton of support here.

I thank God that your wife at least got home safely! As for your ordeal with the insurance company, I say give it another week. If the insurance company is still acting a fool with you, take it to the local news. >:( Put them on blast & maybe they'll get their stuff together. You shouldn't have to go through this.

Call the news, print and television.  Meanwhile, I'm going to check on something.

Screw waiting a week. Hearing about Misterhorror, this morning, has me angry. I say call your local stations NOW because it's all this stress that put him in the hospital. He doesn't deserve to have this happen.
