To me, what makes a Horrorscope a "thing" is the whole package. A MIB unit. The toy itself, look-wise, is pretty boring and yawn-inducing.
The box graphics WITH the toy inside, as seen the old FM ad, is the stuff Vintage Monster dreams are made of. Lots of promise in the shelf-look of a boxed Horrotscope. Much more than tha actual toy could ever possibly deliver. Success!

I'm with Bob on that. What an incredible item....boxed.

I agree. While it was tough for most toys to live up to the advertising hype, the Horrorscope fell far shorter than most.

Is this Item #323853713590 at a B.I.N. of $35,000 on Fleabay the same fellow's listing?

Quote from: tuttle3219 - Ebaythis lot has the "Original" horror scope in great shape and works! comes with 4 movies Frankenstein, Dracula, Creature from the black lagoon and the curse of the werewolf made by Multiple in 1964. ultra rare!

???

The Horrorscope is of course not "rare" let alone ultra rare in that condition by any stretch of the imagination. The definition of "rare" that has been the collecting industry's generally accepted standard for nearly fifty years is from the Overstreet Price Guide:

Quote from: OverstreetRARE - 10-20 copies estimated to exist.

Meanwhile Bill Bruegman of Toy Scouts discovered about a dozen M.I.B. Horrorscopes in a single find back in the late 1980's.

It has the same exact photo, so I'm gonna guess yes!

Where/how did you find a picture from the January 2016 listing? I don't see one previously in this thread and the original links don't work for me anymore.

Isn't that an old post you're quoting?

No. I'm quoting tuttle3219's current Ebay listing. I suspect that the January 2016 listing which was the original subject of discussion in this thread was also tuttle's but I can't say for sure.

That's why I was confused. That's usually used to quote an UMA post.
