Emily from "Let's Scare Jessica To Death"

She was maybe a vampire as well but it was never really explained, just alluded to through out the movie. In fact that is how the how movie was, never fully explained, just creepy as hell.

The movie Let's Scare Jessica to Death still to this day confuses me. Are all the town's people under the
spell of Emily. How is it that Jessica and Duncan didn't reconize her(Emily) from the photo, as they were
selling the picture frame to the antique dealer?
