Well, we've covered scariest vampires & werewolves, so after watching the THIRTEEN GHOSTS remake the other night, I got to thinking, man those are some creepy a** ghosts!

So, my esteemed colleagues, what, in your opinion, are some of the creepiest/scariest paranormal apparitions put down on film...  besides Casper, I mean?

I always liked THE CHANGELING with George C. Scott.  It always gave me chills.

THe Haunting, the original of course.
Have the Lambs stopped screaming Clarice?....Dr. Lector

Emily from "Let's Scare Jessica To Death"

She was maybe a vampire as well but it was never really explained, just alluded to through out the movie. In fact that is how the how movie was, never fully explained, just creepy as hell.

"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

Opera Ghost

Hands down, I'd have to say the remade "13 Ghosts"

13 Ghosts had the scary images,so did the remake of House on the haunted hill...but,neither of them were actually any good.

I do like... The Ring/Ringu/Ju-on/The Fog(original)/The Devil's Backbone/The Shining/The Innocents/Kwaidan/St.Francisville Experiment
Not all of them have scary creepy ghosts in them, but they were pretty good to watch.

Off the top of my head: Marley's Ghost, the wandering phantoms & the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come from Scrooge (1970), most of the ghosts on the original Dark Shadows, & the winner.........THE WOMAN IN BLACK. It's not available on DVD to the best of my knowledge, but it can still be found online in VHS. Check out some key scenes on YouTube (the TV broadcast, NOT the stage play).

I'll go with POLTERGEIST, and THIRTEEN GHOSTS  (the original).  For a book, Dorothy McCardle's THE UNINVITED cannot be beaten.

Hmm,how did I know that if you responded this would be one of them? ;)

I'll take Poltergeist, Amityville (yea I know some are supposed to be demons). I like House on Haunted Hill remake, The Haunting both versions, Rose Red/Diary of Ellen Rimbauer. The old series Ghosts has some pretty creepy stuff and is a must have,IMO. Also is The Grave Dancers as shown here The Gravedancers trailer

I challenge that....."Haunted" by James Herbert

Even though I don't think the film itself is very good, Julian Beck scares the crap out me in "Poltergeist 2".

"You're gonna die!"

Shiver.

Great book Doc. Read it a couple times.

The Creeper

The Changeling is one of my favorite ghost movies.  It is really cool and creepy!
Long live the UMA!
