I've been trying to do better.  And have also been going through and slowly starting to downsize the collection.  (It amazes me how much stuff I thought I had to have that, a few years older and wiser, I realize I don't really want as much as I thought.  Or maybe it's more a matter of what do I want the most, coupled with the desire to have enough space to showcase the more important bits.)  I mentioned elsewhere that I had hopes of displaying the Little Big Heads with their 8" Sideshow counterparts, but since each line gradually went off in different directions with figures unique to each, I've decided to let the Little Big Heads go.  And there are far more models than I have time or shelf space to build and display, so those are getting weeded out as well.

Oh don't feel bad. I collect non sports cards, comics odd toys , monsters, decoder pins ,games ,movies, models and OLD D&D stuff. I go on kicks of buying things.
It's all about the Horror.

Great photos Ray.  I have always enjoyed the signature black velvet background since the mid 90's when it first appeared in the Gallery Of Monster Toys.  Your macro photography is the stuff of monster collecting legend.

Sorry that I am chiming in so late on this. It is historic, no doubt and a wonderful tale of two collectors getting exactly what they want. I have always wondered about this item. If memory serves Joe Shovitz may have been the only guy to ever confirm a sighting of one of these, to me.

In the halcyon days of collecting in the id 90s when these motionettes came out, Kelly and I drove around North Carolina for a weekend (filming Matlock at the time) and we hit every Walmart and I filled my car with them. At the time there was No Walmart in LA and I gave dozens of them away as gifts, sold a few. Anyway, we NEVER came across that Mummy. I had to send a friends mom to the Meiger (?) stores in Ohio to get the small Mummies.

Boy was that a great time and seeing this incredible and VERY rare toy 20 years later is nothing short of miraculous.

Thanks for the "photo orgy", Ray. I can't ever imagine that word being used in a negative way!

Danny -  I acquired the smaller/battery operated version of the Mummy from a Meijer store in Michigan.  I called several and found one that had them.  I remember them charging me just the $20 item cost and they shipped it for free.

I also have the electric/24" Creature and he and this Mummy Raymond acquired both have the "floating head syndrome".  Perhaps that was a common characteristic of the electric versions?  I did a little Dr. Frankenstein work on my Creature to get the head down a bit to display better.  It's head turning action isn't as good but I like the look of it better.  Congrats on an ultra rare find, Raymond!
