"The Creature From the Black Lagoon" was originally painted for my Brother but for some reason he didn't want it--odd really, since the Creature is his all time favorite Universal monster.
Anyway, the old boy found a good home after being one of the silent auction items at Monster Bash a few years ago to help raise funds for little Noah's medical expenses.

Ah, two of my favorite actors in a scene with so much light and shadow at work--and sweat, those are sweat stains on the back of Fritz's shirt. Fritz's shoes have no heels on them and are too big and curl up at the toes--- his trousers are also far too big--he's got "friendly pockets" since they meet in the back.
This was also one of my "Ghastly Greetings" Halloween cards with the text:

"Whoever it is, don't let them in----and Fritz, if its those rotten kids again, tell them once and for all that we haven't got any candy!"

Roxor taking his repose was a commissioned painting for a friend and shows Lugosi at his matinee idol best. What a sly and handsome dog he was---and what a profile. I'm so glad that Roxor took five sans his turban.

Bela & Boris together again in "The Raven" but this time in a vintage glass and chrome frame from the 1930's. I haunt flea markets in search of this type of frame since it sets off the finished painting so well. This was also a commissioned painting and lives in Mexico.
There now, I've exhausted my past files of all my horrible children from 1999 up until 2007(2008 hasn't been born yet)---some of my older painting scans are lost due to two faulty disks that insist that they aren't formatted.

Terrific stuff, Linda. I really liked the Dr. Pretorious piece of yours I saw on the CHFB. It was a little less photo-realistic and had a nice somewhat graphic feel to it.

I know what you mean about losing images due to failed floppies or CDs. I learned that lesson the hard way, lost a few over the years. Now I triple back-up almost everything, in different formats (Zip drives, mini-hard drives and data disks!)

Here's a new oil pastel of one of my favorite horror characters...

Frank, the lighting is exceptional! You manage to really capture the essence of the subject with what appears to be just a few strokes.

Great job!

Thank you, Frank for the kind words. If you like Dr. Pretorious as is, you should really see him in his frame--a wrought iron, double hinged door frame that puts him right in the crypt for his picnic. Oh, Elder Robert! Dr. Pretorious needs a photo op!
Oil pastels, it has been decades since I tried them but I like the way you brought Dr.Phibes out of the darkness of the background--and his Visine eyes. Litho crayon I've tried and liked, but once again that's just shades of black & gray. Pointalism done with a Rapidograph technical pen--drawings take months to finish but the result is worth waiting for--got a few of those sitting around but I don't think they scan very well---all those microscopic dots, but will give it the ol' community college try on Monday and see how they turn out--a few gargoyles from Notre Dame, Olivier as "Hamlet" having a chat with Yorick and a scene from "The Elephant Man".
Here ya go Frank, just for you---a little closer look at the good doctor. I love the up-turned pointy tip of Thesiger's nose.

This is the only pointalistic drawing that would work on this scanner at work; "The Elephant Man" and "Hamlet" just overwhelmed the poor scanner and the elderly computer has no Zip drive.
The stone Satyr was done in 1982 with a Rapidograph on illustration board--I was still searching for the right sort of signature for my work back then.
Did pointalisim for a few years--guess that could be called my "dotty period".

Unearthed another pointalistic ink drawing from the depths of a bookshelf. A companion to the Satyr, this is a well known grotesque from Notre Dame . 1981--that makes me feel old. I was out of college for 2 years and cleaning out dog kennels for a living--a very bad case of being over-educated and underemployed, but it paid off my college loan(I only had two years of college so it was a small loan and a lot of dog diamonds).

This is a miniature portrait of Lugosi from "Dracula"--size about 2inches by 3 inches. Since my parchment paper is handemade I hate to waste even the smallest pieces of it. The Count now lives in Portland, OR. with a friend and fellow slave of the library system.

This should be the last one for a while. I was intrigued by Ygor attempting to lurk in a candlelabra. This same candlelabra must've been a popular piece of furniture at Universal and can be seen in "The Tower of Lodon" as well. There's at least one still of Mord lurking in the same.

Here's the piece I commissioned Meek to do for me--you've seen the image already, but here, for the first time, you can see how she framed it--a perfect setting for a priceless gem of art:

Closed, the crypt gates shade who knows what half-glimpsed horror....

but creeeeeeaking open they expose a cheerful scene!

Et voila!

Thank you again, Meek, for creating this wonderful objet for me!
