Hi Mario, Thank you kindly.  I am currently re-doing many of my autographs (getting them out of files and framed).  I will be posting more pics over the summer as I have the chance to get organized.  David

Ok guys, I've been meaning to show some of my autographed items for awhile now. I've been real slack about posting on here, I hope to get better about this.

First off, Mario you truly are the King of Autographs. What an amazing and varied collection. The care that you put into the presentation of these is simply amazing. I hope one day you do get them all displayed somewhere.

Mario, is that Criswell autographed with a regular pen? The way it's signed is strange, allthough perfect for Criswell! A good friend has a huge collection of autographs relating to Ed Wood, but Criswell is one he's lacking. He'll be jealous when I tell him about it!

Didn't you post a Rondo Hatton early in this thread? That I am very jealous of!

Ok, on to some of mine.

Sorry for the odd angles and glare. I just quickly went and took these around the house.

Vincent Price

Beverly Garland

Ted V. Mikels

That is the re-release poster for Astro Zombies which I like better than the original. I do also have the original autographed by Mr. Mikels.

One that I'm very happy to have. The Professor is a nickname that a lot of people know me by. It's not self applied.

George 'The Animal' Steele

The following 2 were given to me as a gift my last birthday.

Haruo Nakajima

Kenpachiro Satsumo

Thanks phantomcreep, it's funny how we all have our own preference , some of us go to masks, some to toys, some of us to autographs. I think it says alot about the real love of these things, we don't collect them because they might one day be worth something , we collect it because we are passionate about them, your autograph collection looks great, keep posting. And yes the Criswell is kinda creepy looking . Kinda silverish metallic pen, very mysterious LOL!! Again Thanks for the kind words. Mario

Thanks Mario! I only have a small autograph collection and it's pretty random.

Here is one I got recently and am VERY thrilled to have! A friend of a friend of mine found 2 old playbills in his grandparents stuff. It seems they both saw Arsenic and Old Lace and had Boris Karloff autograph their playbills. He kept one of them but traded the other to my friend who then traded it to me. It's in pretty rough condition but it's a great piece. I know Karloff was very fond of Arsenic and Old Lace. This is a very early production as even though it's not dated there is an announcement across the bottom of the playbill that states, In the event an AIR RAID WARNING is received the audience will be informed in ample time to leave in an orderly manner.... When I got this, it was already in a frame and I haven't removed it yet to inspect it better.

Now if I could only get a  Lugosi  ;)

Ya know, it never ceases to amaze me whenever you see somebody elses collection and realize how similar we are in our collecting...that Price is awesome, as is the Karloff and the Garland. :o

Mario, great Westmore!

Phibes, I agree. It's always fun to find other like minded individuals.

Folks, wonderful autographs.  Just be careful.  I recently bought a stack of Star Trek autographs off of a guy who wrote a Star Trek book.  I will not use his name.  Anyway he assured me that all of the autographs were original and that he had them signed in person.  There were 20 in the lot and 11 of them were preprints.  We had long angry discussions before he agreed to take them back.  He finally admitted that he had boght most of them elsewhere and was not aware of how to detect a preprint otherwise he would have been more cautious.

Buying autographs (other than getting them signed in person) can be tricky.  You have to go by reliability of the dealer, comparisons to known examples of the signature, and gut instinct.
