And why would you publicly admit to bidding 9k??😆    No offense but its folks like yourself that make it impossible for the average person to own stuff like this.
Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

Not everything in the world is available for the "average" collector.

Sometimes you have to go outside what you would normally pay to obtain a thing.  I don't go around tossing out $1300 for old squirt guns.  I had just received that dopey Covid $1400 check (that I didn't need) from the federal government and thought, "What the hell"?

I don't begrudge people of greater means than myself living in mansions and owning antiques.

"No offence but it's folks like yourself that make it impossible for the average person to own stuff like this"   Well, I was going to write a nice long response to this, but midway, I decided against it. I changed my mind and have no reason to respond, not because of lack of extreme enthusiasm on my part (quite the contrary), but because of lack of true understanding on your part, and also, because it would be too much fun. My mind could easily be changed though.

The market has spoken, and crying about it won't change the price.

Oh, I agree. This is happening in many hobbies right now. Pokemon has exploded to the point that Saudi Princes are buying cards for investments instead of cars or real estate. They are buying sports cards instead of sports  cars. Collectibles will unfortunately go for more for the next few years but it might be a good time to sell high ticket items soon. This auction might be the first of many that we see making record sales, and if so dig out your high end stuff that you can live without. Cash in and wait for the crash.

John Pertwee, very true.  Did you see the recent Horrorscope being listed for just about 10,000 opening bid?!  I agree if you are looking for the cash, it might be tempting to sell now, but, with e-bay, and any auction house it's still a roll of the dice. Chances are good still that if another Creature water gun would be listed it would probably still bring good money, but sometimes it can go the other way, even though another Creature water gun would only maybe bring in half of the first price, it's not chump change.  As with me, I struggle with this, only because I still like the higher end items that I retain, I guess I'm a true collector, and it's certainly not ruled out that the posibility of another Creature listing would maybe realize even more money, who knows?

It's gotta make you wonder.  What would a pristine carded squirt gun go for?

My tastes are for the high end stuff at cheap prices. If I can't but it for what I consider a decent price, I move on. I also look for deals on stuff I don't like or don't collect anymore and use it for trade. The Amazing Spiderman 129 (1st Punisher) I bought for $5 netted me a Famous Monsters #2, a Creepy #1 signed by Warren, a 1966 Peter Cushing Doctor Who Comic I already had but wanted to trade to someone else, and a large stack of monster magazines I didn't have.

I also used other older Spiderman $5 comics to trade for another rare book at the same show. That little flea market haul paid off, but I never would have bought that stuff at market price.

To my knowledge there is no known example of a Creature or Frankenstein squirt gun on the card. Considering the AHI Creature Walker went for over 15k on the Heritage Auction, the squirt gun is getting that or more.

I think I saw a Kong, once, but not the others.

I saw a Kong water gun last month, not sure what they were asking on it though.

You can see the other 2 in one of the original ads, but not recent (last 40 years) photos.

How about the counter boxes? More, or less rare than the carded ones?
