Yeah.  I'm really hating the overall vibe.

I don't get it.  This year the big day is on Friday.  Plenty opportunities for weekend parties and after-dark activities for the kids with no impact on a following school day.

With all the negative news in the air, you'd think people would be in the mood for cutting loose by dressing up and partying.

I wonder how many new foreign-made toys, decorations, etc. we didn't get because of uncertain international trade and so many people being fired from jobs as the economy weakens.  I know attendance is down in Vegas, theme parks, traditional festivals and vacation spots.

I hope there are plenty kids trick-or-treating this year.  For me it is ALL about building life-long memories for the children.  I want them to love the holiday the way I do.

I do like the things they have out at Target. Very retro and Beistle like. NECA announced Horrorween as if there would be some new thing showcased every day. Been kind of anemic though. Maybe Dracula got to them and drained their plans.

Off topic, but did you see that Target knocked the vast majority of their halloween merch down by 50% for two days last week? I find that, among many, many other bellwethers, a sobering look at the economy.

I've noticed a lot of really good deals on eBay auctions so evidently there isn't a large amount of expendable cash flowing now like in years past. Good time to be buying, selling not so much. Low minimum bids and many of those auctions are selling for those minimum bids. Also, good deals on certain Halloween items. And, yes, Target has some great stuff this year. Dropped some money their way myself.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Yeah, not to get political but at least among the people I know in real life there's a general sense of pessimism right now. With prices increasing on so many necessities, I don't think people are that interested in Halloween decorations and toys.

Don't know where you guys are but I'm not seeing it- just the opposite, a lot of optimism here, gas $2.38 a gallon, eggs back down to normal prices.  But maybe I'm in a bubble.

That whole eggs thing was due to bird flu, though, not tariffs and whatnot.

Found the Neca Frank color and Glow Remco versions at Ross today. I don't see why they are selling them this cheap, but I will get extras at this price

How much for the Remcos? I paid like 60 bucks for a Creature.

The Wolfman and Frank are $11.99 each, and I heard that Mummy was found as well. The first three glow figures were released at Target so these might be extra stock that is being sold off. The next six glow figures were Exclusives and might not show up there, but I will keep looking. I will grab every Creature I see and offer them here at cost if possible.

For that price, I'd probably buy a 2nd one.  ;D

Agree.  Worried how the night will play out.  I live in a heavy hit neighborhood on Halloween.  I start buying candy early Oct. even during the yrs it falls during a weekday, or worse on a Sunday (local churches have already trademarked, and operate "Trunk or Treats" on their prosperities) keeping many from actually experiencing the nights celebrations.

Bad signs from seeing that Home Depot has already taken all their Halloween down.  Great you'd think, sold out.  They usually have so much, and stays displayed through the holiday, usually, not this year.

I kinda wondered why, but they didn't have much I was interested in, though as a Star Wars fan I was wanting to check out their new R2D2 animatronic.  Checked with the guy at the service desk, and he quickly replied that the company just canceled a boatload of more than half of their stocked items/orders because...news in the air...bubbles...

Damn!

Before I retired, I would get about 100 kids mooching candy every year.  I LOVED it!

Now, I live in a predominately Asian neighborhood.  Many of my neighbors are 1st or 2nd generation Americans.  Halloween is not their thing.  Even though I decorate my front window with some sort of lighted display every year, I get ZERO trick-or-treaters.  We sure have a LOT of fireworks on certain holidays!

Reminds me of a story a lovely Chinese lady where I used to work told me about coming to America.  She and a few of her friends went trick-or-treating when she was young.  Later, her grandmother found her and her siblings dividing up a huge pile of the night's spoil.  Knowing the kids had no money of their own, Grandma demanded to know if they had stolen the candy.  When they told her how they came into possession of their sweet bounty, Grandma broke down into tears and was inconsolable.

When the old lady had settled down enough, they asked her why she was SO upset.  Turns out she was embarrassed that her once proud family had descended to going door-to-door, begging for food.  Evidently, it took them a long time to convince her it was an accepted practice among children on this one special day each year. (My co-worker confided to me that she suspected Grandma never fully believed their explanation.)
