Quote from: Monsters For Sale on August 23, 2025, 07:03:18 AMTarget has a lot of generic crap this year.  I don't get all the pink and sparkly cutsey stuff for Halloween.  I guess they must sell this stuff because they keep bringing it back, but I wish they would go with creepier, darker items.

Yeah, I found very few things I like at Target for Halloween. I really miss the Monsterville stuff from 2017. Now that was some good merch!

It's gotten ridiculous the amount of generic Halloween things so many retailers are trying to push these days. You Tube is overflowing with videos covering these walkthroughs and "hauls". So much ceramic, plush, glassware, and cutesy baby-type stuff it makes your head spin. I like to check out some of this stuff, but it gets to the point of overload. I'm mostly just interested in blow molds anyway, and some of the Target vacuforms are nice if you can get them undamaged. But, I guess the Halloween overload is better than lack of interest leading to too little spooky stuff. At least we have a lot to pick from.

I kind of liked it better when Halloween collecting wasn't so mainstream though. I used to feel like I was among a select few nuts who loved this stuff. Now I'm (we're) just part of the crowd. Many of us do have good collections of older Halloween/Monster stuff though, so I guess we still have our little niche.

Even Tractor Supply Company is joining the feeding frenzy for your Halloween dollars. Found this YT video:

The prices are very high. I saw nothing I would be interested in even if the prices were reasonable, so I won't be wasting my time in TSC.

The prices are pretty good at Five Below.

Makes me want to get a Pumpkin Skeleton for 5 bucks.  ;D

Hallmark has 36 Halloween Ornaments listed online.  This one caught my eye.

Not being blown away by the Halloween pickins' so far.  I did like this little light-up pumpkin from Ross.  (Evidently, Ross doesn't have online shopping.)

It is being sold instore for $14.99.

I don't remember if it was 2014 or 2015, but I so wish they'd started their Universal line either at the other end of the timeline, in 1954, or just pushed through after their lackluster Frankenstein 1931 sales. I firmly believe we'd have had two, three, or perhaps four Creature ornaments by now had they simply give good ole' Gill a try. Has anyone ever seen the UM designs the never released? I believe the Mummy and Wolf Man were mentioned...

I think I will order ones of these.  Target ships orders of $35 or more for free.  I can add a can of nuts, some chips or popcorn to make up the difference.

I saw it all lit up on a YouTube shopping video - looked good.  It is listed on their site for $30.

There's also a set of Little Universal Monsters Fun Dough canisters with stampers on top of Frankenstein, the Bride and the Wolfman. The are 2-D, in the shape of the character, but the image is just a sticker. Same cutesy design as the bath sponges.

Saw a YouTube Halloween shopping video for Marshall's.  They also have the Frankenstein Metal Ground Breaker, but with a pre-printed price tag that says Marshall's instead of T.J. Maxx.

T.J. Maxx has him for $16.99 and Marshall's price is $16.99.

I missed this Spirit Halloween Frankenstein statue last year when it sold out but was happy to see they brought it back again this year. I am very happy with this; nice likeness and under $50.
