I remember when sugar went through the roof in the 1970's.  The price of sodas went up.  So did diet drinks, that did not contain any sugar.

NECA is the manufacturer though, and BBTS is just a retailer. So NECA having it on their store for $34.99 doesn't seem to make sense. Wouldn't the manufacturer be the one who actually pays the tariffs and not a retailer? I think you're probably right. Price gouging may be in effect.  BBTS is already the last people in the universe to actually get product in store. If they raise their prices, they won't be long for this world.

The Monster (Son of Frankenstein)
Quasimodo
Ygor
Mole Person
Jekyll and Hyde (from Abbott and Costello, or they could get the rights to the Frederic March one)

Those are good ones, that I could see them doing. I guess theoretically they could do even more variations on existing monsters (a Glenn Strange Frankenstein's Monster would be cool).

Yes, the manufacturer does / will pay the tariffs.  But that would only be for items that have not yet been received into the USA - before the tariffs kick in.

BUT - what often happens is that the manufacturer will sometimes just raise the price on items already in the USA to make a little extra profit and blame the tariffs it also helps to offset the costs of those tariffs - example - extra bookkeeping costs keeping track of items with those tariffs, what the cost of each tariff is, and then processing and sending that money to the US government.

So some retailers are sending out a general notice to buyers that prices will likely increase due to those tariffs, but they really won't know the final cost the manufacturer is going to charge until they bill them.

I want a great Lugosi Frankenstein Monster, with alternate heads - including his tucked chin, startled/fearful open mouth.

Price gouging is rampant. I refuse to buy anything from Super 7 and pay the ridiculous 8% surcharge because every item they have sold since they started adding that surcharge was already sitting in a US warehouse for months. It's a slimy money grab. I understand a surcharge if it is to actually account for a tariff on the item being purchased, but it should only be added to an item that fell under the tariff. It's like knowing there will be a sales tax increase in your state in 6 months but some vendors just start charging that rate 6 months before it goes into effect. I hope these companies crash and burn.

It's not too late to start a gofundme page for this Jakks Pacific figure. I wanted one SO BAD!

Unfortunately nobody bought the Jakks stuff because collectors were Sideshow snobs at the time and turned their noses up at "fun" stuff like this.

This NECA Frankenstein is also listed on the Orlando site.  I don't remember it being there before.
