Quote from: darkmonkeygod on August 09, 2024, 09:52:08 PMWe may all in luck! I was speaking with one of the two US distributors of these kits tonight and he believes X-Plus has done away with the "Exclusive" versions entirely, as you aren't the only on frustrated by any sort of "chase". He said the Dracula shipping now includes both versions of the chest-piece, and that the Bride is now going to ship with both portraits (the wrapped head being the secondary) and that there will be no exclusives, that all kids will include the extras - essentially meaning what would have been the exclusive will now be the only edition and it won't be exclusive, it has become the standard edition.

This means that, of the Universal kits, only the Revenge of the Creature kit has a variant.

Seems like a win for all of us that don't want to double dip or chase a variant. That make any of it more palatable?

OK, Now that's what I am talking about!!!!!!! That makes it AMAZING AGAIN!!!! Thanks again, Shannon!

The Cantankerous Collector

Quote from: Mike Scott on July 28, 2024, 03:48:33 PMTheir kits sure have elaborate bases! Love the mist on the WM kit!

That mist is real cool. I think it would have looked better if they connected it to the back of the tree and monument as opposed to resting it on vertical posts. But still- real cool idea!

Got my X Plus Dracula last week and can confirm it comes with both chest pieces to make the two different versions.

X-Plus attended the 62nd All Japan Model and Hobby Show, held 2024 October 12 - 13 in Tokyo, and had signage for the Gill-man as featured in Creature from the Black Lagoon kit that I hadn't seen before they posted these photos (which I've re-hosted and reposted below):

Check their Instagram for others.

Did we talk about the reissue of the X-Plus Revenge of the Creature kit in a long box? I've not been able to find anyone who knows if this 2nd release includes both portraits or not.

News to me, but I don't follow kits, much. (Makes me sad.)

X-Plus exhibited at the 2025 Winter Wonder Fest in middle February and showed some new items. Take a look at their display and the Metaluna Mutant. I've also posted a couple of photos with their sofubi Frankenstein's Monster over on that thread.

X-Plus exhibited at the 63rd Shizuoka Hobby Show, 2025 14 & 15 May in Japan, exhibiting their Metaluna Mutant kit and - I believe - giving away a new catalogue of their kits which I would love to have. Also fun is their new paints set, another loving nod to Aurora.

That's a good-looking Frank.  The unusual electrical equipment is a nice plus.

Those models are wonderfully sculpted and designed. Expensive, but worth the cost.
