Is that "Dr. Gogol" near the TV screen in the 2nd pic?

Yes, one of The Halloween Society's unreleased editions.

'A fellow monster kid, happy with his new ToTS Creature mask >

The final event at Son of Monsterpalooza yesterday was the Jack Pierce panel.
Discussing his life and career at Universal were three makeup FX professionals >

One of them brought along a prop head of Frankenstein '31 which sat on
a chair next to Craig Reardon during the presentation >

I could hardly wait to move in for close-ups of it and got my chance
when the speeches were over >

I later learned it was made by Scott Stoddard and others at Legacy Effects.

Doh!

Thanks Sir Masksalot for the fantastic photographs of the October show.  The "Monsterpalooza" and "Son of Monterpalooza" events always appear to be such fun. I was unable to find good coverage of the either show this year on any of the other monster forums.  So your photographs of both events are very much appreciated. Hopefully someday before I'm planted... I will make it one of these incredible events.

I especially enjoyed seeing the photos of the Legacy Karloff Frankenstein 1931 bust.  That is quite an impressive piece.  It is a Frankenstein lover's dream to be sure.

The Halloween Society display photos are also some of my favorites that you posted.  Those historic pieces are just so cool. The Fredric March "Mr. Hyde" is still the best creepy likeness to date of the character in my opinion.

Here are a few more photos of the bust from the Legacy FX's website from some years ago. I saved these pictures for my archives. All of the photos of the silicone Karloff Frankie have now been removed from their website. I will post them here on the UMA site so they can live on.  From what I recall reading at the time Legacy FX' made several of these special Karloff 31' silicone busts for a charity project. They even duplicated Karloff's large pupil eyes in their finishing which was neat.

Thanks again Sir for the always great photos and information.  Happy Halloween to all!  tynhrt

There were masks galore at Monsterpalooza 2024 last weekend >

IMHOTEP at the "LabRats Inc" table >

"Mabry Monsters" had a small selection of custom-finished masks for sale
including a reworked Shock Monster and GS Frankenstein >

A ToTS Creature  for sale at "Monsters In Motion" >

Matango  and friends at "Kaiju-Jitsu" >

A "Traveler Trading Co" Frankenstein  for sale, quite an unusual sighting >

Close-ups of DonCon/DPS masks in the 'Palooza Museum >

Someone brought in a vintage DPS Wolfman, likely dating back to the late 1960s;
stiff as a plank but otherwise intact >

That DonCon mask display was awesome! Really cool to see the picture of the vintage Wolfman, too. Would that blood have been original? I don't think I've seen one like that before besides the calendar photo of the "A" sculpt.

Doh!

I'm glad the DonCon display is still being used! I got to see it in person at DonCon and you can tell an awful lot of work went into it. It would've been a shame to be a one-and-done sort of thing.

I can't really tell if it's blood or just over-painted lips. Now then ...

On to Dealers Room pics from the MidSummer Scream show last weekend >

Doh!

Let's see... I'll take that one... and that one... and gimme those two over there...

Thanks Sir for the always wonderful  pictures.  I really like some of the masks from "Haunted Harvest".

Dr.Terror

I see a lack of monsters in the recent batch of photos.  Have the copywright owners been cracking down?
Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

Sir Masksalot

There were only two vendors selling masks at HorrorCon L.A. this weekend but I got shots of both for us.
