Quote from: TheMadScientist on August 28, 2024, 12:27:26 PMGot the Frankenstein bust from Spirit Halloween. It arrived today and I'm impressed. Both by the size of it and the detail. Would love to get more monsters (Dracula and Wolfman specifically), but seems like a lot of Spirit merch is focused on Frankenstein.

Yea photos don't do it justice. Would LOVE anyone else in this size

Have they been arriving damaged for some people? Mine was pretty well packaged in a styrofoam shell.

I'm not talking about the Frankenstein planter that I know arrived broken for some. I got this: Frankenstein Bust

Hit a Wal-Mart and Target tonight.  Target had some jointed die cut figures for their Hyde & Eek line, a Pumpkin man, a Skeleton, and a Witch.  I got the Pumpkin and Skeleton.  Only $3 a piece.

Wal-Mart had the new Halloween 2 shirt I was looking for, and the new Halloween steelbooks!  I got Wolf Creek.

He has the 12" half figure.  What I always call a "quicksand bust" - sunk up to the waist.

I've been hunting for this one for a while.  There are a few horror Mystery Rummy sets, one for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, one for Jack the Ripper, and this one.  They don't have glowing recommendations but I wanted some sort of Poe representation for my collection.  Some popped up on Amazon out of the blue, so I'm going for it!  Hoping it's this version and not the one without Poes picture on the box.

Oh!  Also forgot I picked up the new Frankenstein comic.  I wanted the cover where he's looking at the flower in the water, but it's a 1 in 50 incentive, so it's too rich for my blood.  But this beautiful Josh Middleton cover will do fine.

Grabbed one of these Halloween Candelabras at Dollar General. Plastic, seven bucks, uses 3 AA batteries, bulbs flicker.

It has the right combination of cheezy and monstery to look cool with a Halloween/Monster display. Reminds me of old dime store Halloween toys. These were sold out already at all but one location and it wasn't available for shipping on DG website. Must be an "incentive item" salted around to get people in the stores to make impulse purchases. This business model also makes certain items hard to find and feeds the scalper mentality. They had one more and I left it for someone else, and to deny one scalper a few bucks.

Preordered some stuff. Some of it won't come till Jan.!

S7 Cyborg Variant (I'll kick myself, later!)

Fright Rags mini masks.

New Plush (Just "Universal Monsters", I guess?)

Orlando pin set (not a preorder).

Also ordered that BD box set with "The Mystery of Marie Roget".

Got these from Target.

These two items aren't technically blowmolds but they're made from polyethylene and are very blowmoldish. The Crystal Ball is 10" tall, lights up and displays a talking skull, flashes different colors, and plays several Halloween phrases with background music. The Ghost Pumpkin (16" X 10") lights up and has a motion sensor. It looks lit by daylight coming through the window even when off. Both use 3 AA batteries (which were included in the Crystal Ball). The two together came to $35 which gets free shipping at Target. Arrived undamaged in 2 days.

I prefer older stuff, but I occasionally buy new Halloween items when they appeal to me and the price is right. Most new Halloween decor doesn't interest me, but I like these items. It's fun to periodically add a few recent items to the collection when they look cool. Gives some variety.

My friend got some goodies in and held on to them until I came in so I could have dibs.
