Quote from: Lazarus on June 22, 2024, 05:33:21 AMI'm getting down to just a handful of Universal titles that I still need, at least for what there is that I can get without a region free player.

Asssuming we are talking about Blu-rays, which Universal titles are not available on Region A, but are available on R B or C?

Well, I was going to say Last Warning, as I thought Eurekas release was the only version out for the most part, but a search brought up a release from Flicker Alley, so I might need to be a little more thorough with my searches.

I have the Eureka BD. It's cheaper than the FA and it's the same transfer.

But it's Region B, isn't it?  I don't have anything to play region B.

Yes, but I have a region free player.

Feeling kinda down.  Nothing makes the blues go away like buying myself some old horror movies.  Some I've been wanting for ages!

THEM!
The Haunting
Mad Love

Sci-Fi from the Vault (Columbia Pictures 4 Film set of It Came from Beneath the Sea, Creature with the Atom Brain, The 30 Foot Bride of Candy Rock, and 20 Million Miles to Earth)

With this order, I'll have a great giant bug movie collection, though I do still need Black Scorpion.  And the 30 Foot Bride reminds me that I need to buy Attack of the 50 Foot Woman at some point.  And Amazing Colossal Man & War of the Colossal Beast.

How weird to stick that comedy in with those other three. Why not "Earth vs The Flying Saucers", instead?

You'll have to get a bootleg of "Amazing Colossal Man", but there should be plenty on eBay.

For some reason Earth Vs is barely released nowadays. Not even Indicator gave it a release, genuinely wonder if there's rights issues with it. Still, least we got 30 ft Bride on Blu-Ray.

As for Amazing Colossal Man, think there was a region free Japanese DVD out there.

Unless Suzi made a deal with the Japanese, it's probably a boot. Most people use the VHS tape for a source.

Either that or copyright for those films are different in Japan.

Heck, think the original King Kong is public domain there.

Of course, you'd still need a source for your DVDs.

Looking forward to going over each disc in detail. Severin does a great job on extras and quality control. I still plan to get Danza Macabra Vol. 2 and Eurocrypt of Christopher Lee Vol. 2 but I'll probably wait for another 50% off sale. Those are pricey.

I'm hoping for a Danza Macabra Vol. 4 at some point with more Spanish Gothic Horror. I'd love to see Vampire's Night Orgy, Curse of the Devil, The Dracula Saga, and Curse of the Vampire get the deluxe treatment.

There's a 50% off sale on Criterion at Barnes and Noble.  I had to show some restraint but I got a few things I needed.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me

Have both series but I didn't have the movie, so that's done.

The Incredible Shrinking Man

It's a Universal film I didn't have, so I had to have that one.

There's still a bunch I wanna get from these guys, but they always seem to hit when I don't have a lot of funds to go ham.  Hopefully I can get a cool box set or something next time if funds permit.
