TV on DVD What are you watching now?

Dark Shadows 1990 series. Watched first three episodes. Because it's only 1990 the show has a real 80s vibe, in terms of costume design, set design, and even the performances. It's like Dynasty with vampires 😄.  I actually like it a lot though. Part of it is nostalgia. I remember watching it in high school. I thought it was so cool that a major network would donate prime time to a horror themed show!! Of course it lasted only 1 season. Too bad. So many horror tv shows now, this version of DS ahead of its time imo. 🧛‍♂️

So I followed up by watching episodes 4-10. Again, very entertaining show imo. I was watching episode 11 and about 20 min in it starts acting wonky. Wont  fast forward or rewind, just freezes up. I took out the disc and wiped it off. Put it back in and same problem. Only 12 episodes in the series so I was super aggravated and was letting the expletives fly. I said screw it I'll just jump to last episode. But episode 12 wouldn't play either!!! Can you believe it?!?!? I binge watched 10 and half episodes only to be cut off near the finale😩. I dont believe these episodes are streaming. And i bought this dvd set like 10 yrs ago, so I can't send it back. Im determined to watch last episode and a half, so I bit the silver bullet and ordered another dvd set on ebay. $25 for 1.5 episodes!! 🤕

Whenever that happens to me, I look for a replacement disc on eBay.  I've had pretty good luck finding single disc I needed.

Binged seasons 1 and 2 of Penny Dreadful. Gonna start 3 tomorrow. Such a great series imo. It's like Hammer Horror on steroids. I wish they would have kept going. Apparently Showtime wanted a 4th season but the show's creator was ready to move on. It was unfortunate because there were more stories to tell. They included characters from Dracula, Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll, and Dorian Grey (plus the Wolfman and Bride of Frankenstein), but they could have eventually introduced the Invisible Man and Dr. Moreau among others. Too bad.

Animated Beetlejuice series. Interestingly, the first three seasons are 29 episodes total, so they are on one disc. there are 65 episodes for the forth season, so they have those on two discs.

I have started watching Batman: The Animated Series on BluRay. I have to say, that it is a little difficult to watch right now, so close after the death of Mr. Conroy.
I've also gotten caught up in the God of War Ragnarok rage... I was fortunate to be able to FINALLY purchase a PS5 in September and have also been trying my hand at creating a stadium for my "Legends" team in MLB The Show 22. And if that isn't enough... Total War Rome II always beckons to me!
