Can anyone inform me as to how the original calendar masks, the ones  that appeared on the two  main adds from the back of FM were labeled, stamped or otherwise marked?   Also, was the Boris Karloff Frankenstein mask considered  one of the Calendar masks?  ---or just the two versions of the G. Strange masks?     I can find internet pics of the 1980s re-issues of the back of the mask with their latex  stamped labeling, but cannot find one pic of how the "original" calendar mask were stamped or marked.

Karloff wasn't in the 1966 Calendar but he was in the re-release so i consider it a Calendar mask. also i think all the masks came with tags originally

People should check the calandar mask section of the Rubberroom and click the tabs under each mask before buying anything on ebay or elsewhere they are told is vintage😉

For all its misspellings and misidentifications, that ad SpinalRemains posted is still awesome.

This is exactly the information I was looking for regarding my all time favorite masks!  I had paid a brief visit to The Rubber Room last month or so, but never took time to delve into it;  this is a definitive wealth of information!  These issues should be reprinted, if this is not being done so currently.    Especially interesting is  reference made to retouching and repainting these classic masks if really needed ---- being OK so long as one conforms to the original colours as much as possible;  if I could find a way to get mask rust off, I would never do such a thing, however skilled I am at painting, but I have yet to find a way to get it off---using soapy water, or alcohol.  Thank You  One and All!   ---Once I get my new phone set up, or a decent digital camera,  I will post some pictures of what I am dealing with so far as restoring and saving  my Phantom;  he is much improved, but I am not finished yet.

Of the three custom DPS FRANKENSTEINs above, only the center one appeared in the 1966 calendar.
That one is "the Calendar Frankenstein" >

So it goes for all the other DP/Universal characters. Only the versions depicted in the 1966 portraits
are truly "Calendar masks". That's how I interpret the term.

Yes! That is indeed the only "valid" answer.   I think some people, including myself---for a time,  would mistake latter adds that appeared in Famous Monsters,  adds that looked quite similar to the original----for The "Original and Only" calendar masks.  The problem was, they were not in the actual calendar.     I might add, that when I wrote "for a time"  that time in my case, might have been right up until you posted the answer to  my question about the Karloff Frankenstein mask!.   So even though it is from "an add" on the back cover of Famous Monsters, my all time favorite depiction of a Frankenstein mask is this  Well that did not work this time, but it is the light green gray version of the smooth Glenn Strange Frankenstein with hands.
