I kinda be thinkin that perhaps Universal has lowered their licensing fees to something more reasonable and affordable to most companies due to the fact it seems suddenly more licensed stuff has been starting to pop up...

How far deep can they go and still have it be worthwhile (IE profitable)? Personally a Kharis Mummy, Carradine Dracula, Mad Ghoul, Ape Woman, Maleva, Countess Zaleska, Van Helsing, Renfield, and many others would thrill die hard older poops like me. But we die hard older poops are a minority....would they keep chugging along?

I've thought about this quite a bit. I think some human characters would sell well enough especially if they included a couple small accessories. If they're making Son of Frankenstein, Ygor and Creature Walks Among Us figures why would they not look at doing Dr. Frankenstein, Van Helsing, Renfield, Maleva, Larry Talbot (human) or Kay (from Creature)? Heck, with how en vogue the Creature is these days a stand alone Creature series wouldn't be that outlandish. A 3 figure boxed set with Kay, Lucas and David Reed might do quite well.

As long as the art on the cards are as good as its been, I certainly would go as far as they take it.

As long as Super 7 continues to release these Classic Monsters-I will buy-no matter when.
Most likely Covid affected release dates, I will, and do, buy my Monsters monthly!
Halloween is the time everyone else catches up to me.  All I ask is to keep 'em coming!

aura of foreboding

I have no doubt COVID is the culprit.  It's screwed up trade entirely, especially regarding toys as has been so eloquently stated here by the people who know.  No worries from me about this series.  It's coming.

Well, seeing as how Wave 1 debuted with SDCC variants then the line was out for Halloween, and wave 2 debuted with SDCC variants and was then out with the regular versions before Halloween, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that Super7 was telling the truth that covid was responsible for the wave 3 delays.

I honestly don't what what everyone's background here is when it comes to understanding the industry and all its moving parts, but the dirtiest of secrets is that when you're dealing with manufacturing in that part of the world, they are *notorious* for cutting as many corners as they can get away with. For every company dealing with them, it's pretty much essential to have your companies representative out the visiting the factories to make sure you don't take delivery on a massive shipment and find out that what you got was not what you ordered/expected. Why do you think it's so easy for us to spot bootlegs with their brittle or poor quality paint ops, excess flash on the mold lines, substandard and missing paint ops, etc, etc?

You can't design "x", order "x" and expect to receive "x" precisely as designed. There are a lot of manufacturers who will omit at least one step in the quality control process. And while everyone with a limited basic level of understanding will say manufacturers are back open and shipping is happening again, covid still massively impaired the quality control checks (which can take MANY back and forths to get agreed upon) and theres still a backlog.

Surely you guys remember the end of the Funko/ReAction collaboration days? Corners were massively cut on heat-sealing the bubbles to stay on properly, and what probably looked okay at the factory the reps didn't know until they got here to shelves how easily those bubbles just popped right off. You have to really, REALLY look closely at your product because most of the manufacturers WILL cut any corner they can, including rushing your stuff through where they don't properly seal bubbles to cards.

I don't know about you but I'm happier to have a good product rather than meet a Halloween deadline.

Understandable and I'm in agreement.

What frustrates me re: no Halloween release is being available to the rest of the world who might not be as keen to buy them during any other month of the year. I'll be buying them regardless... but others might not. My thinking is if they're released at a "better" time it could mean a series 4 and 5 and so on.

I hope its not a mistake, they haven't posted this on any of their other social media sites. Kinda feels like different people run each one.

Oh no...they better not be dropping one figure at a time...

Also the official UM twitter saying this is only the 2nd figure of the Creature Walks...someone's gotta do their homework...

I'm sure he isn't counting unlicensed figures, but Sideshow had three (12" and LBH x 2).

I'm not ordering these one at a time. I can wait til the whole wave is available...or just quit collecting them.

If you want the Walks Among Us Creature, I would not wait. That said, it should be available from the usual resellers and perhaps you might find free shipping.

That is some great artwork on the card! Man, I wish that they would do a calendar of these paintings!
