More Halloween purchases last month:

Got these MIP Beistle Jointed Skeleton Hangers (one 55" and two 22") from an eBay seller pretty reasonably. I remember seeing these things all my life and even though I always wanted them we never had them when I was a kid. Sometimes you would see these used in school either in science class or maybe for Fall Festival decorations.

I've been buying the new Beistle Halloween dies cuts for the last couple of years. The new ones are usually cheaper than older used ones and being in new, unused condition they look much nicer. I've seen some of the older used ones priced pretty high, but the new ones are still made by Beistle so I assume they're the same, only not beat up with tape, pinholes, and other condition issues. Some of the older ones aren't being made currently, so those probably have some "collectible" value. But, the ones they're still making are the ones to buy new IMO. I do love these things.

Do you have the box, too?

Unfortunately I don't have a box, but always on the look out, I do have a mint unused Iron on. Pretty cool piece of unlicensed bootleg monsters.

I collect Creature iron-ons and would like to have one of these.

Bought this weird Devil blow mold mask with opening jaw last month. Yeah, blow mold, not vacu-form. It's very thick with two layers of plastic.

It looks like something from Japan or Mexico but I don't know. And, maybe from the '80s? Love the blow mold monster toys so I grabbed it off eBay pretty cheaply.

Anyone know anything about it?

Here's another old TOT bag I picked up last month.

I just got this Australian comic book, just because I love the cover.

Interesting.

I've seen yank magazines before, but not yank comics - kinky.

Grabbed another old Hween costume last month:

I don't want to get into costumes too heavily because they use up storage space and have gotten a little pricey. I'm limiting myself to just a few monster oriented characters which have the classic Halloween look. This little girl's Vampire Witch was relatively inexpensive and has that kid/Trick-Or-Treat vibe. It's also really cute.

Many of the post-war BEISTLE designs have been made for decades and continue to be I expect.  There are differences in the designs that have been continuously produced, particularly with color and paper stock.  BEISTLE also had some short-lived designs of the same era that are very sought after.
If you want to view Paradise, simply look around and view it.

It also looks to be in NM unworn condition.

I believe it is.

Some other eBay seller was selling just the mask for some outrageous BIN price. I bought the whole costume in an auction for less than 1/4 of what the mask was. eBay is full of crazy price variances like that. Patience and good hunting skills really pay off.

Another eBay purchase arrived- Collegeville Devil Costume.

I won the auction for this and it sold surprisingly cheaply. There was one in similar nice condition listed on eBay last month for over $50 plus shipping on a BIN. I wrote that seller with some questions and no reply came so I wrote it off. I love these old Devil costumes but over 50 bucks is a little steep. Anyway, I got this one for much less than half that including shipping $$$. I'll try to remove those stickers from the original Collegeville box (I removed lots of stickers from Kay Bee Toys action figure packaging back in the day).

This one was only a couple of bucks more than the new Funhouse Devil that I bought from Retro-a-go-go, and that was only the box and mask with no costume (though it did include the jointed hanger). I like the new Funhouse Devil just fine but nothing beats an original in great condition.

There again, wildly divergent prices on eBay for similar items. Shop around and be patient to save big $$$. With the current state of the economy there are some really good deals for older collectibles if you can hunt them down. A lot of folks are just trying to survive this mess and don't have money to blow on collectibles now, so deals are there to be had.
