I am not a fan of those Blind Dead flicks, but I will admit the Monsters look cool. There was an album insoired by those films by Zoltan. It's creepy. Listened to that a lot while painting. Also the new Godzilla soundtrack, and a lot of Verne Langdon.

The Stooges  - self-titled
Patti Smith  - Horses
The Modern Lovers. - self-titled
The Velvet Underground  - Velvet Underground and Nico

Does anyone here know what 2 things these albums all have in common (aside from being proto-punk classics)? 10 points for the correct answer.

Patti Smith dated Fred Sonic Smith, and the Stooges were from Detroit area too. But I don't see Detroit connection for other two records. I give up.

Ok, nice try, 5 points for effort. Here's the deal :
     1. All four are debut albums
     2. All four involve John Cale (first three are produced by him, V.U. features him as a
        band member).

Thanks for playing!

I am late to the game. The only involvement I know is John Cale....besides being in the Velvet Underground.

 The Omen  - Original soundtrack

I always play this full volume during Halloween night. When the creepy chant starts, nobody wants to even approach my door. Music by legendary Jerry Goldsmith.

OK,so call me a traitor and hang me from a tree. Mainly into all types of metal but I have grown a huge love for 80's-90's synthpop and disco. Especially the Soviet  and Eastern European and Baltic states. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpIVCcjjqLg

Talking Heads  -  Talking Heads '77

I haven't listened to this record in decades. It holds up amazingly well.

 Lou Reed (1973) -  Berlin
Produced by Bob Ezrin (Alice Cooper), and featuring Alice Cooper guitarists, Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner. Also featuring amazing bass playing by Jack Bruce (Cream) and ferocious drumming by Aynsley Dunbar (Bowie, Journey, etc.). Steve Winwood (Traffic) on keyboards, while the Becker Bros. (Steely Dan) play horns. Is that a super-group, or what?
This album also features some of Lou Reeds best writing. Imo, this is Lou's finest solo outing. No prisoners taken.

Great stuff

I forgot to mention the name of the album. It was "Berlin" by Lou Reed. My brain keeps shrinking...one cell at a time. My favorite line:
"Men of good fortune, often cause empires to fall..."
