Hope they offer up the leftovers like last year.  Hope there are leftovers!  Haha

That's the problem. I missed out on several things, because there were no leftovers!  :(  A $6 Creature soda, now goes for 50 bucks!!

BEWARE:  The Super 7 Stupidcast Number 16 is here.  It lasts less than 9 minutes - it just seems w-a-y longer.

Parents, let this be a warning to you.  Telling your kids how cute they are too often may result in adults who act like this and think it is normal.

Suppose this creep guy was an only child?  Or is he just suffering from a terminal case of "Hey everybody, LOOK AT ME, I'm a star on YouTube!" syndrome?

I could only take 2 minutes. Jeez this dude's annoying. Thanks for posting, though.

Maybe they could take our money, so they can pay a legitimate "host".

NO.

At least nothing about any Universal Monster offerings.  I don't care anything about the weird (to me) Japanese monsters.

Well, I was rounding up. The Dracula impression got me too.

Lol! I just knew i had to leave before seeing the motorhead atrocity. They can do stupid stuff with dumb novelty bands like misfits and king diamond all day long and i dont care but motorhead deserves a bit more respect than a weekend warrior in unwashed jeans and a shiny new leather jacket wearing a poorly done motorhead mask.  >:(

I wouldn't consider The Misfits a novelty band. They deserve respect as much as Motorhead. There is a very well done Lemmy figure that was released right before he died. I just cant remember the company. Motorhead was one incredible band.

You're right, they do. Growing up in the NJ punk scene i guess i take it for granted. Motorhead loomed large while the misfits were just a local (usually unreliable) band. I did like them but the status that has been attached to them over the years seems ridiculous.

Adam, Brian has been a very good friend of mine for over twenty years. I like, enjoy, and respect him - as I do many of my friends - a great deal. I get that you dislike what he's doing in the video but, while I know he's got a thick skin and, like so many industry professionals, doesn't bother with the UMA due to its overtly caustic nature, your calling him a creep greatly bothers me. You will of course do with that information as you will but, as a longtime fellow member of this group, I feel the need to express that to you.

You're right.  I shouldn't have called him a creep.

But what he does on his videos IS creepy and the rest of my comments stand.

How clever of "industry professionals" to avoid any exposure to what potential customers think.  Good, solid market research technique.

Honestly, I feel it's a generational thing.  I look at the video and don't see anything wrong with it.  It's the style that is currently en vogue.  Would I prefer something a little more traditional, such as B-roll of the product with a baritone narrator telling me to look forward to seeing these products on Super 7 soon?  Absolutely.  Is that the style of advertising in fashion?  No.  People that make videos like this are striving for more "personality," more connection with the viewer through humor and a fun delivery style.  It's what sells to today's audiences and what today's audiences have come to expect.  It's a counter to the seemingly cold, uncaring, detached way of selling products of yesteryear.  In 30 years, this style will seem overly fake and forced, and we'll return to something more traditional.  Don't hate the messenger.  Hate the people receiving the messages.

I appreciate your recognition.

As for industry professionals avoiding consumers, they don't. There is unfortunately very little here of use to most of them in a signal to noise ratio sense, and it has been that way for many years. Beyond the snark and poor attempts a jock-ish comedy, there's just never been much in the way of coherent, constructive criticism - even when the group had a large number of participants. With all the ways to be so directly and obviously in touch with producers, both public and private, it's the people who don't participate in those common forms that are avoiding exposing their opinions and experiences to the professionals.
