Mord

Replicas (2018) -  Dreadful Keanu sci-fi film. A scientist takes his family on a trip and they all wind up dead after a car accident. He just happened to be working on transferring life or something very sci-fi-sh. As terrible as it sounds with master thespian, Reeves, turning in another stellar performance. Stick with John Wicks.

Yeah, but, he's dead, so how's he gonna help anybody?

Oh, yeah, HE survived. Keanu just blends in with the wallpaper.

Link, 1986 - A young graduate student becomes the new assistant to a zoology professor at his remote home, where he lives with two chimpanzees and an orangutan named Link. One of the chimps is found dead and the professor mysteriously disappears.  Things go decidedly downhill from there.

Elisabeth Shue and Terence Stamp.

When the new assistant is given stern rules for living with the  two chimpanzees, Imp and Voodoo, and The Orangutan, Link:
        1.  You're the dominant species.  You must never, ever treat them as equals.
        2.  Don't ever let anything escalate.  Always forgive them, whatever they do.
        3.  Don't get involved in their squabbles.  They sort them out.

You just know there will be...  problems.

The isolated seaside mansion high above the sea makes for a creepy location.  The almost human actions and expressions of Link are unsettling even when he is on his very best behavior - never more so than when he encounters the nude assistant and looks her up and down very slowly, calculatingly.

The Kino Lorber BLU-Ray looks and sounds great.  The country setting is gorgeous.  The indoor sets necessitated by working with primates don't detract from the story.

The unusual story is fun and worth a watch.

Unusual duo.  Kind of a "Watch out or nature will get you" program.

The Sentinel, 1977 - A troubled fashion model takes an apartment in an old N.Y. Brownstone for a suspiciously low rent. Hers is the apartment just below the top floor where a blind priest sits stolidly facing the window day and night, as if watching...

When she complains to the real estate agent of the noises made by her strange neighbors, she is told that no one but her and the priest have lived in the house for years.

Amazing cast:  Chris Sarandon, Cristina Raines, Martin Balsam, Ava Gardner, José Ferrer, Arthur Kennedy, Burgess Meredith, Sylvia Miles, Beverly D'Angelo, John Carradine, Jerry Orbach, Jeff Goldblum, Eli Wallach, Christopher Walken, William Hickey and (very briefly) Tom Berenger.

A classic horror that has always seemed equally akin to Rosemary's Baby and Freaks to me.

Would have been better if the freaks had something to do besides pose and walk around aimlessly - they never seem menacing.

Still, a fun, atmospheric movie that makes a lasting impression.

I've had them sitting in my Netflix queue for quite some time, so I figured I'd do a nature attacks double feature.

The Sentinel. Such a great, creepy Horror film. Chris Sarandon, Beverly D'Angelo, Christopher Walken, Burgess Meredith and Sylvia Miles(the Funhouse-1980) good cast. Especially Sylvia Myles and Beverly D'Angelo.....uncomfortable, but memorable scene.

Prometheus-2012(An overrated, boring crap of a film. Shame on you, Ridley Scott.)

I saw it in the theater and felt the exact same way. What a waste of talent and further diminishing of a once great film memory.
