They use Filipino extras that just don't fit the usual "prison babe" look.

You prefer they all look like Moonbeam McSwine in undersized orange jumpsuits?

I like my prison films to feature gorgeous, big-breasted Amazons. It sometimes seems like they go around arresting underwear models all the time. Btw, who's Moonbeam McSwine? Pornstar?

Li'l Abner character.  Female member of McSwine family who raised, and lived with, pigs.

The Girl in the Spider's Web  (2018) -
Surprisingly lifeless considering the greatness of the original Swedish books and film series. The actress (Claire Foy) left me unmoved. Should have been much more exciting.

Mord

This is the End (2013) - Hilarious "end of the world" comedy, with a who's who of today's biggest names. Danny McBride steals the show.

Lunkenstein

Paul

Mord

Mad Love (1935) - Lorre is awesome, as usual. I think this is one great little horror gem with numerous memorable scenes. Nice to see Colin Clive. He had such a short, tragic life.

'As Above, So Below'. Watched out of desperation after what seemed like hours of trawling through Netflix. A found footage supernatural horror set in the catacombs of Paris. Like a low budget mash-up of The Descent and the Goonies/Temple of Doom. Not a bad effort with some genuinely creepy moments. Worth a watch.

Definitely creepy and a fun film.

Der Hund von Baskerville, 1929 - Classic Sherlock Holmes story in jaw-flapping pantomime.

Carlyle Blackwell Sr., George Serov and Friz Rasp.

Interesting mainly for viewing the state of German cinematography and special effects just before sound.  Includes a 1914 production as an extra.

Restored from the only existing copy.  Existing Czech (or Polish) cards are translated with English subtitles.  Some missing scenes have been "reconstructed" using stills - like "Lost Horizon".

Best suited for diehard fans of the story.  I liked it.

I have the FOX and HAMMER versions, but I don't think that makes me a big enough fan to purchase this one. I'd watch it if it was on YT, though.  :)
