I suppose they did that to hide the discoloration from butter stains and the dust that inevitably would have stuck to them.

They could have accomplished the same thing by placing a loose paper liner inside.  No permanent damage that way.

I don't agree Nor like people that make Fakes of the originals. Im not gonna stop anyone from doing it , Cause unfortunately I cant., But when nobody buys them they will quit wasting there time. . Not sure if any of you deal with Gas/Oil Porcelain signs, But now Experts in the field are getting tricked by them. Have patience and pay up for an original. Money can always be replaced.

I don't understand. If repros can't be differentiated from originals, how will being patient and paying up help in getting an original?  You might just end up paying more for a fake.

But much/most of the time the repros are passed off as originals to fool naïve buyers. That's the very idea. You're advising people not to be fooled by fakes, but by definition people don't get fooled deliberately. I just don't understand your point.

You are arguing. Care to post again and further explain why you aren't arguing? 

Some people think it's ridiculous to pay hundreds of dollars for a paper popcorn bucket...or a candy bucket with a hole in it. I like vintage monster items too (and have several), but I can see the other side of the argument as well when it comes to purchases such as this. Everyone has their own opinion about the monetary worth of these items. Letting your opinions be known is why we're here. Beating it to death doesn't serve a purpose.
