Cat People - 1942 - Lovely B&W photography in this Val Lewton classic
Curse of the Cat People, 1944 - Great performance by a young actress
Twins, 1989 - Genetic engineering with one notable side-effect - played as a comedy
Arrival, 2016 - Thoughtful sci-fi that doesn't rely on pyrotechnics

Lunkenstein

Love those Lewton films. I have that great box set that came out in 2005.

I favor Part one, more than two.

Over the weekend:

The Devil Commands 1941 - Superb Karloff performance with a couple of creepy moments.
Before i hang 1940 - Another "mad doctor" Karloff classic.
The man they could not hang 1939 - Karloff once again, out for revenge.
The projected man 1966 - A similar experiment gone wrong type scenario, very much like the fly. I never realised this was actually filmed in colour?
The amazing transparent man 1960 - Low budget, touching on Sci fi, certainly not horror or a classic, but quite enjoyed it non the less.

Good lineup.  And thanks for the descriptive lines.

"The Man They Could Not Hang" has been a fave of mine since childhood. I remember watching it in the family den long after everyone had gone to bed. I love the booby-trapped house Karloff used to exact his revenge. Very underrated film.
