You can get the Warren mag for half that. You can probably get one of the later reprint books cheaper, too. Check abebooks.com

Cheers for that Mike, I take it the Warren mag is the original pictured?

And rightfully so!

Smith did a brilliant job there; he doesn't talk down to his audience, and he doesn't hide his tricks.

Many of those of us who have done makeup in later life, owe a great deal to that mag.

-Craig

Very cool.  Did you have this one as a kid?

Mike
Do you have access to post the diffeeent publishing of this make up mag/book?

Mike Scott

Maybe these aren't as cheap as I thought! abebooks has the 1985 ed. starting at $99! Guess it's been a while since I looked for one?

These are the only 2 paperback reprints that I know of.

I did think the one I posted the link for seemed to be at a fair price. It's amazing how fast some things can go up in value but this is an amazing book and I borrowed one once from the library in SF.

It was cheaper than the cheapest one at abebooks!

Give ya just one guess...

Bogey

If you would of come to our house dressed like that for Halloween, I would heave dumped the whole bucket into your bag and apologize to the kiddos behind you.  Not only did you nail it, but choosing  Dr. Glendon's transformation puts you in the extra cool list.  Well done!

Wich2

Why thank you, sir!

I'm in that minority that actually likes Uni's first werewolf movie more than its second.

-Craig

P.S. - I wish whoever took the pic had told me to get my hand out of the way of my face, though.

I am with you on liking this film more so.  I remember finally watching it for the first time as an adult and thinking,"Did I just enjoy that more so than the Chaney Jr. film?"  In short, I just thought the story had better depth.

On a side note, any other make-up attempts on your part?

Bogey

Always a sucker for Godzilla covers. This one from 1975. Never saw it on the newsstand as a. 10 year old, but never too late to enjoy. Nice article by Don Glut about The Creature From the Black Lagoon that I read with my morning coffee.

Another monster mag that left the newsstand too soon!

Any magazine with Kharis as its mascot has my vote of confidence!
When times are dark, don't consider art to be merely a distraction; rather, think of it as a lifeline-  Neil Gaiman paraphrase.

After seeing it at three different comic cons, I finally pulled the trigger and picked this up.
