The Astounding She-Monster. I just recently re-purchased the Image/DVD. Honestly, I really want to like and enjoy the film. Nevertheless, I cannot get past the Female Alien chasing after the two couples, around-and-around. Which always leads to the cabin/house.

I just take it for the cheap amusement that it provides and enjoy the alien's skintight outfit. :)

And here's Shirley Kilpatrick sans skintight outfit.  ;)

Don't Answer The Phone! (1980)

Prime Evil (1988)

Crown International Pictures released some pretty mediocre stuff back in the day...some good stuff too, but this double feature falls into that mediocre range. I watched it in Grindhouse Experience mode which made it much more enjoyable. The trailers for Werewolf Vs. The Vampire Woman and Night Of The Werewolf were a lot more fun than the feature presentations. Such is the way of the monster movie fan, we take the good with the crap and squeeze all the fun out of it we can.  :)

I have admit I am a big fan of the film, Don't Answer the Phone. Such a sleazy, filthy film. Around when the film was released, my friends and I saw - Don't- at the drive-in.
The Code Red version has a better transfer.

The killer is certainly repulsive.  ;D

I'm glad sleazy grindhouse/drive-in fare like this exists because it's all part of the extremely interesting history of Exploitation Films, and so many of us had fun seeing it in the theater back in the day. But, honestly, I won't be upgrading my DVDs of this stuff. It's almost preferable to have not-so-great copies as it seems appropriate given the subject matter. Also, many of the prints we saw at the theater of this stuff originally were in pretty bad shape...added to the charm. It would be like upgrading Eerie Pubs and Stanley monster mags to high grade examples...I'm satisfied with the mid and lower grades on that stuff.  ;)

Rodan (1956) on Svengoolie. Such a fun film. Hadn't seen it in years.

The Hobbit (1977, animated). Give me this over PJ's bloated trilogy any day. I like his LOTR, though.
London After Midnight, reconstruction.
