Monster paper flip movies

Back in the 60s I remember getting little flip movies, about 2.5" square, of Universal Monster scenes. One I particularly remember was the Wolf Man creeping through the foggy forest.
Does anyone have any of these, and do you know where they are from? I'm guessing that they were packaged with humorous monster trading cards, but maybe not?
What remined me was the thread about the Monster scope movie viewer, but these were much shorter scenes, I'm sure...

Topps' "Monster Flip Movies" from 1963. Sold in counter boxes like cards. two per pack. 36 different film clips (mostly Frank, Wolf, Mummy and Creature scenes). About 30 flip pages per.

Is it possible to take those 30 flips and put together on online slide show presentation at "flip speed?" Sounds like another fun project to me! How 'bout it Mike?

I have the Horrorscope scenes that might work too.

I have many. I think the only problem with our leaders theory is that the books would have to be dismantled to create the online show.

If there is a way to do it otherwise, I'd be happy to offer my books.

You could make an ani-gif, if you want to rip apart your original and scan the pages?

I don't think anybody is willing to rip apart their originals. I sure hope not anyways! But it would be loads of fun if it were possible to capture these images without harming the source material.

Wow, thanks Mike. I didn't remember the little narratives on the back...
Dan, what are they printed on? I'm wondering how stiff the paperboard was to get a good "flip-action"...

You could flip them in front of a vid cam and load the footage to YouTube.

If done properly, this would be cool. Still, I think a nice ani-gif presentation would be better, but beggars can't be choosers. Who's looking for something to do today?  :)

Yeh, but what would those look like, really, other than a very short clip from the movie?

If you shot 'em on video, you could always dissect the footage frame by frame to make said Gif, any NLE system will allow you to export single frames from video (Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, Avid etc)

Or if you photographed each page, you could animate the stills. They sound great! I've never seen them before, but had a similar Spiderman book as a kid.

It would be the same thing, just in a different format. I think the ani-gif wanted was a flat film clip, rather than somebody holding a book. Personally, I'd rather watch somebody flip the book, that watch a 1.5 sec. film clip.

IIRC, the paper was little better than newspaper-grade (unless I'm thinking of the Monkees versions).

I'm with Mike - I don't own any of these and I would much rather see the same thing one sees when holding the book and looking at it as the pages are flipped.  Not to say it wouldn't be cool as heck to see what Terry described.
