Fun!  :)

I remember when I was torn about starting to buy DVDs or sticking to VHS tapes. Finally, in 2002, I took the DVD plunge and haven't looked back. I've added a few BDs, but whatever the next big thing format is I'm not interested. My movie library on disc will do me till I fall in the grave and I'm satisfied with it. I still have my old VHS tapes if I ever want to stroll down memory lane (though as time progresses more and more of them will either play poorly or fail to play). We'll always have fun memories from the VHS days anyway.

I remember that add, too. I remember the feeling of actually owning copies of the entire films (after years of staying up late to watch cut up versions on TV).

These are pretty neat. They're the cutouts used for the Frankenstein meets Wolf Man cover.

Nice promo.

Nice to see that, again, since I no longer have any of the tapes!

We were literally getting ripped off on everything in the late '80s and early '90s.  I look at the prices on some of the Halloween decorations I have...  Outrageous.  The only reasonable prices were fast food.  Now we're getting ripped off there and saving big on monsters.  I'm okay with that.   ;D

Fifteen dollars doesn't seem much now, considering secondary market prices on VHS.

For $15 now I could get 3 or 4 of those tapes off ebay or Amazon. For $15 I could get one of the the Legacy Collection DVD sets that have multiple movies!

Actually, $15.00 a pop wasn't so bad; considering that just a few years before this it cost about $10 to get a silent, super-8 movie from Castle Films, that only lasted about 10 minutes ($20.00 if you wanted sound)!
