I just found this on Netflix. Gonna watch it for the first time. I've heard about it for years!

I hope you love it! It was a huge influence on horror movies, especially their design (including our beloved Universal horrors).  :)

I watched this for the first time in a college film class back in 2007. It was the first silent film I had ever seen. It took some getting used to, and I'll be honest, I don't think it's something I pop in the dvd player for fun, but I appreciate its impact on horror cinema culture and I'm thankful for getting the opportunity to see it.

Any fan of classic horror films/ Universal monsters should see it at least once.

So many classic scenes in Caligari inspired the look of the original "Frankenstein" (1931). The film will be a hundred years old in four years. I'd say it was well ahead of its time.

The 4K restored "Caligari" is really, REALLY cool.  Much of the restoration was from the original negative, and those images are so surprisingly clear.  The "chatter" from the original camera mechanism has been largely removed from all scenes, allowing the viewer to take a good, close look at the image for the first time, without the image jumping around.   Pretty neat to see this movie, among the oldest of horror films, restored like this.
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!
