You should try the DC showcase set of books although they are in black and white some of the artwork is breathtaking. Some of the titles are House of secrets, House of mystery, Ghosts and the Witching hour I can highly recommend these books.

I mentioned earlier that I was a Marvel Horror guy, but I'm really getting into the DC titles now. Justice League Dark inspired me to start reading I Vampire, Swamp Thing, and Frankenstein Agent of Shade. And because a lot of the New 52 stories crossover, I started reading Justice league and JLA too. I'm usually not a big superhero book reader, but so far I like the DC titles.

At some point I'll go back and collect some of the vintage DC titles like House of Mystery, early Swamp Thing etc.

If you pardon the expression, the cover of the Tomb of terror has a lot of body. The female is drawn with such depth that she is almost lifelike especially her dress, do you know the artist Hep.

Lee Elias, the same fellow who drew the Black Cat and the covers of almost all the Harvey mystery/adventure titles at the time. By the early sixties he was at DC where he worked on the Green Arrow, Tommy Tomorrow, Cave Carson, Eclipso and other features:

Konga and big-titted Trojan queens make for a fine combination if I do say so myself!

That Fantastic Giants comic is one that is dear to my heart. I bought a copy in 1966 when I was 7 years old and I wore the cover off it I read it so much. A few years ago I picked up a very nice copy off eBay for a reasonable price and was very glad to finally reclaim such a gem. This might just be the best Ditko monster comic of all. It came at the end of the Charlton Gorgo and Konga runs and reprints the main stories from the first issues of both titles, as well as two new Ditko stories. Love this book.  :)
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Gorgo and Konga were great heroes, that's for sure!

I always  enjoyed the Weird War Tales :

My dad used to collect these and I'm sure he's got them stuffed in a box buried somewhere in one of his sheds. One of these days when can brave the all the wasps and brown recluse spiders, I'm going to find them.

:o

You should do it sooner rather than later because comics should not be stored in a shed!

And now for something completely different:

The Dell Gold key movie issues had some great Vincent Price covers, at times it made the movie seem better than what it was supposed to be great colour layout.

Ah the Land unknown, I have not watched that movie since I was a little nipper. Back then the helicopter scene near the end was what I always remembered about it at the time. Now that I am a big nipper it is on my bucket list, thanks Hep.
