Hey guys!

Ive looked on here a few times but I'm just now getting around to signing up. I'm on a few other sites and I'm sure a couple of you have seen me before. With Halloween coming up Ive kind of been going through some stuff. Anyway Ive had this poster for a few years now and I don't know much about it. I know it would have had to come out after 75 because of the pictures of Jaws on it. There is also a round red stamp on the bottom of it (this pic doesn't show it) that says Argentina on it. The paper its printed on is thin and seems kinda brittle. So besides the title on I was wondering if anybody knew anything else about.  Thanks guys

Welcome to the UMA, Dude!

This was a TV special (clips show) called "The Horror Show" (1979 CBS), hosted by Anthony Perkins. Probably aired around Halloween. It was released theatrically, in other countries, in the early '80s. The stamp is probably a tax stamp. Looks like the 29" x 43" poster. Equivalent of the US "one sheet".

Awesome, Thanks for the welcome and the info. I really love this poster and Ive always wondered about it. Like a lot of the stuff I have some of it gets put to the side and I just keep getting more stuff coming in the door. Probably going to go ahead and put this in a frame. Thanks again!

It's was released as "Horror World" in Japan and is what spawned the Bandai superdeformed figures and the Bilikin models. Cool poster.

Really! Never would have guessed it was the inspiration for the "Horror World" figures. Learn somethin' new every day!  :)

Better yet, it was the license!  That's how characters such as the Fly, Thing from Another World, Nosferatu, etc were mixed in. Funny, innit?

Don't know much about the foreign poster market. Probably less of them in the US than in Argentina.  ;) Maybe you could ask the guy who's advertising his poster auction in the classifieds section?

My guess is it's rare, as I doubt many were saved.  It's value would be based on demand, and that's preety much what another person is willing to pay for it.
