Texas Chainsaw 3D-Actually watched the non-3D version!  For some reason I enjoyed this but not sure if I ever need to see it again!?  As has been widely reported the timeline is completely flubbed; if they'd have simply set this in the late 80's/early 90's it would have increased my opinion of it and really most of it could pass for the era except for the smartphone scene!  I could overlook modern vehicles and the price of gas being $3+ and all they would have had to do was have the deputy use his CB instead of a smartphone!

I'm not so sure I agree with the soul focus being on Leatherface either, as the family has always been the focus of all the TCM's......even TCM 3 Leatherface!   Though the overall theme of the flick in the end was family!

I'd stick with renting this one and maybe down the road once it is in the $5 bin pick it up!

McDougals House of Horror

"Dracula" with Frank Langella. Nicely done -- Langella insisted that in order to be different from all other Dracula fims, he had no scenes with fangs or with blood dripping off his mouth. He's very suave, right down to his fluid and well-plannned hand gestures

I enjoyed this movie.I remember seeing it on opening day (Friday The Thirteen of July 1979) and thinking what a different interpretation of the character. I think I'll watch it ttonight.

Well, the film wasn't different from all of them....at least as far as no fangs, no blood!

Went to the drive-in Sat. night and saw Epic along with Iron Man 3!

Epic was better than I expected but all in all it felt like it could have been a direct-to-dvd-Barbie movie...both girls enjoyed it immensely though, and that's all that matters!

Iron Man 3~I enjoyed it!  Hard core Iron Man fans may not like the deviation from some established lore but it is still more true to the Iron Man comics/movies than the travesty that is The Amazing Spider-Man!  I actually enjoyed this one more than Iron Man 2 but I really need to watch 2 again for a true indication!  Also the action is nowhere near the level of The Avengers...it's more akin to previous Iron Man entries which is what most would/should expect.....You just can't please everybody!

The Creeper

Long live the UMA!

Phantom Stranger

"Sinister" (2012)
            -Ethan Hawke

Plot: IMDB
A true-crime writer finds a cache of 8mm home movies films that suggest the murder he is currently researching is the work of a serial killer whose career dates back to the 1960s.

Phantom's Review: Well made, entertaining film. Fine performances from the cast and the director creates a very "classic" spooky atmosphere (dark stormy nights, thunder and Lighting etc) The plot is interesting and never boring and there are a few good BOO scenes. My only complaints about the film are 1) I thought the music sucked awfully. It got on my nerves. and 2) (this might be considered a spoiler, so be warned) this is one of those horror films were the bad guys win at the end, and to be honest , I'm getting a little bored by that. It's no longer shocking. (end spoiler)
Outside of that, this is a decent film.
