Wow,  a remake of a film that really doesn't need to be remade. How......original. Good going Hollywood.

I know how you feel, bro. I saw all these films in theaters back in the day. Just makes you feel, kinda....ancient  :)

12??? I drove my girlfriend there to see it, then went to a keg party! I think I was 19 or so.

Let's see...June 1982? I was 20. Think I saw this with some friends from high school while we were all home from college. One of them was my ex-girlfriend, who at least had the tact to not bring a date!

I don't know if I can get excited about this remake. These reboots are getting silly.

Considering all the paranormal reality shows out there now, that could be a way to go with it. There are ways it could be updated and made fresh. Will it happen? Wait & see, I guess.

Monsters For Sale

I prefer the old physical effects.  Don't really have any interest in the computer cartoons that are used today.

CGI is great for supplementing effects and doing subtle things that don't scream, "Hey, look at the cartoon".  But I think it is way overused.  Worst examples: anything on the SyFy Channel.

I guess I am just an old fogey.

Old fogey or not, you recognize quality over slap-dash crap. No reason to be ashamed of that.
Again, there's a way to update any film remake that makes it work. Look at the raves "Evil Dead" is getting.
