BigBud - awesomeness personified! They were offered by EC comics as a premium.

I agree! Those pieces are beyond awesome to have!

"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

AMAZING piece of EC History!! What a cool thing to own, congrats!

Those Ghoulunatics are sweet!
I want some.
Were those given to letter writers to the comics?

Thanks guys....and ChrisW, special thanks for the info on that being Johnny Craig in the pics. Didn't we lose him not too long ago? All the EC artists had such different yet individually beautiful artistic styles! It took me awhile to appreciate each EC artist, bit when the light bulb came on for me I couldn't get enough of their work and stories..........

It's all about the Horror.

Hey guys, while we are ECin' let me ask you about this item. I have owned it for many years. It was purchased from the estate of a very serious collector of EC comics. It is in a 14x16 frame. The daughters of the deceased collector told me that they thought it was something home-made. But for my many examinations of it I cannot find the telltale signs of an amateur project. I have never considered taking it apart out of the frame. Anyone see such an item before?

i've seen the ad before but not this. it could be a promo from the company that use to reprint the ec comics in the 90's?

Looks like a newer item, however it is a great piece. Maybe around the time of the first hardbound editions?

bigbud

jimm...that might make sense...I bought the entire slip-cover EC set from the same estate as the EC framed item.........

Gaberax

Great photos, Bigbud. But all I could think of with the 2nd picture was Gandalf saying "I have no memory of this place..." in Moria. :D

Grrr...
