Hello UMAers!,

Here is another one of my favorite pieces. Matted/framed Planet of the Apes cast autographs, including: Charlton Heston, Maurice Evans, Roddy McDowell, James Whitmore, Kim Hunter and Linda Harrison. I bought the collection of autographs and matte at Wonderfest when Linda Harrison was there about 4 years ago and then had it custom framed. Sorry about the glare. Go Ape!!

I had a tough time getting this one! It's lyricist Peter Sinfield. He wrote the lyrics for the early King Crimson albums, he worked with Emerson, Lake and Palmer among others, and recorded his own solo album, Still. I wrote to him via Facebook, and was told as long as I sent a SASE he would sign and return it. I hurriedly started to send it, when I realized he was in England!! So I enlisted the help of my fellow UMA'er Markchro who was kind enough to send a SASE with British postage to Sinfield. This was back in June of last year! Then I waited. And waited. After a few emails to his assistant I was promised the autograph in November. I just received it this past week! Whew! I really like his work and figured this was my one shot at getting his signature. I wrote one last time to his assistant for a translation! LOL!!

(That's his signature in the upper right, btw...)

Illoman

Okay, I wrote Pete Sinfield and asked for a translation:

You are welcome Mike. Ha.. me and my notoriously bad Elvish handwriting which I can't always read myself but in this case, for reasons I now forget, appears to contain a quotation from Kurt Vonnegut "The most damning revelation you can make about yourself is that you don't know what is interesting and what is not." (& yes i do make graphologists head's ache. . .

Robert I appreciate the fact that we can share non-monster aspects of our collections with each other. It's always interesting to see what everyone's varied interests are. And you, my friend, are the undisputed King of varied interests!  ;D

I'll be selling some of my Colin Clive autographs to fund a film preservation project that I am working on.
If anyone is interested, just MSG me for images and info. I have signed portraits as well as album pages.
I also have original Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein stills if anyone is interested.
A bit off-topic maybe, but not quite :)

Full shooting script for 2009's "House of the Wolf Man," autographed by writer/director Eben McGarr, star Ron Chaney, and the late Michael R. Thomas (Count Dracula and Béla the Gypsy) and the late John P. McGarr (Barlow, producer, and set designer). I heard Eben tell Ron Chaney that there were only five fully-autographed copies of the script in the world.

Recently acquired:

Although I couldn't travel to California for Monsterpalooza, a friend hooked me up with this triple delight:

Bin Furuya who played Ultraman in the original series

Susuma Kurobe who played Ultraman's alter ego, Shin Hayata

Hiroko Sakurai, who played the beautiful Akiko Fuji (probably began my attraction for Asian women...seriously)

and from another friend, this (non-genre, but a film legend):

:) :) :) :) :) :) :)
