Get the complete series box. I made the mistake of getting season 2 at BL for $10, only to find out the season 1 sets were selling for more than the complete series box!  :(

i think i got one of them around here as well.lol

And another reason to get the complete series boxed set:
I found season 2 at Big lots for about $5. Then after haunting every video store/pawn shop/thrift store for about three months, I finally found an ex-rental "complete first season" at a video store. $15 was just too good to pass up.
But, guess what?

The complete first season on DVD did not include the "Pilot"  AKA the TV movie-like first episode!
Looks like the only way to get all of Twin Peaks is via Twin Peaks: The Complete Series (The Definitive Gold Box Edition)

Another must-have (that I still need a couple of volumes of) is THE UNTOUCHABLES starring Robert Stack. Phenomenal show, and the DVD transfers are amazing.

Bob-- when I was younger, I used to think Robert Stack was such a wooden actor. However, when I watch now, I find his performances have aged a lot better than his Actor's Studio-trained colleagues because they are so straight and un-mannered. He gives just as much as the show needs and not more. Compare that to Dragnet which is so mannered it seems silly now.

I also love the "Untouchables" tie in merchandise. One of these days I will get the boxed Untouchables Tommy Gun.

For western fans I would highly recommend Steve McQueen in Wanted Dead or Alive series. 4 outta 5
Recent buys
Ed Mc Bains 87th Precinct. 4 outta 5 stars.
Johnny Staccato starring John Cassavetes.
Rod Cameron in State Trooper.

The wife and I LOVE the old late 50's 60's stuff and it is finally emerging for real out of the cellar.

Agreed Matt. I always loved Stack's portrayal, but as a kid thought he really wasn't acting, because whenever i saw him as himself, he sounded the same! The tommy gun is def. cool...I had a carded Untouchables cop pistol at one point, but it is long gone.

OK , I'm seeing BIG collections but really how many times are you going to watch them?  We have watched Buffy TFS entire series 3X. That is ALOT of viewing time.
Supernatural entire series twice. Once we watch a series 2-3 times and say that is not a keeper for another 100 something hours of viewing it goes in the seller Biz Bag.
I have the entire series of Adam 12 and still watch the free shows on cable. Never get tired of easy to watch popcorn cop shows. Our motto is if we are not going to watch it within 2 years it is gone = dust collector. Guess that is what happens when one lives in a tiny 1050 sqf doll house and too much stuff and too little time.
