Hi guys, I recently picked up a 1 inch MPC Monsters witch on EBAY. The seller was kind enough to break up a huge lot (past my budget) and sell me the missing one.  The seller has a complete set and a set with two different figures.  Thought I'd pass this along to anyone who may be interested.  Good luck!

Apparently, there is a single.

Received my witch in the mail yesterday.  It is plastic.  Like the 2 1/2 version.  It is crisp in detail, appropriate flash and what seems like older dust/dirt in the nooks and crannies.  Just saying it looks good to me.  Caveat emptor.

Never mind, I'm a dum dum.  I forgot these are the really small ones. :-[  The white color made me think resin.    I should have noticed the lack of the scythe.     To my knowledge they have not been recast, reprod etc...

What were the small ones for?   The checkers set?   Or were they giveaways of some sort?

Found my 1st one a few years ago at a toy show.  The 2nd at a flea market.  Several people here on the forum said they, too, had some.  They had said they were made to be distributed via a gumball machine and were probably unauthorized knock-offs.   Also, they said that, as far as they know, only the skeleton, the witch and the grim reaper exist.  I am always on the lookout for them. I think they are neat!!!

These were the type of figures that came with the "Haunted Hulk" Playset.  So are the white figures on Ebay original 1960's?
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

No, they are not like the type of figures in the Haunted Hulk playset. The ones with the Haunted Hulk are 2 1/2" tall. These white ones are not only even smaller but they're not even complete. They have missing items, e.g. the bats on the witch's and skeleton's shoulders and the grim reaper's scythe.

If they were made for as formal a distribution channel as gumball machines, perhaps they may indeed have been produced by MPC.

I just sent the gidget of a seller on Ebay a frank email on how a toy seller should know that Marx and MPC are not the same company.

I just received a frantic email from the seller.  She (I assume) was upset about that email and wanted some advise as to if she should change the description.  She had done some research on the figures after our transaction and had based her description on what she had found out.  I advised her that the listing was fine.  Sure, she could change the description to be more technically correct but it hits all the bases for someone looking for MPC and/or Marx monsters (or little plastic monsters in general.)  In fact, for the observant buyer, it might be a good thing if the description isn't 100%.

I looked at the lady's "other" items.  She is not a hardcore toy seller.  Just someone selling stuff on Ebay.

As I said, I bought the witch. It is legit. A one inch plastic figure that was either made by MPC or as a knockoff.  Either way, the item I purchased was in great shape, with sharp, clean lines, soft plastic like the 2 1/2 inch figures, with some flash (like my other figures.)  For me, it was a great find and, for anyone here who is interested in these things, I thought it might be as well.

No excuses. Ebay or a full fledged store, I have the right to expect a retailer to know his product line like the back of his hand.

That's fine. But she should still know that Marx and MPC are not the same company!

Seriously?  I really hope you are joking here.

Hepcat

Why should I be joking? This is not something she does out of the goodness of her heart. This is something she does for money. I therefore judge her by the standards I judge any pro.
