Hmmm. That is interesting. I'm sure there are several folks who have used this group in the past as a barometer for peddling goods. That's a nice looking candy bucket BTW. And I'm afraid the asking price may indicate that the seller has been doing his/her homework somewhere along the line. Probably right here at this group?

123-kid has a lot of monster stuff and lists is fairly often.  He lists some pretty rare and high end stuff quite a lot, and does know it's value.  He may read here (may be a member here), but those usually start popping up some as we get near Halloween, and he's a monster toy collector, so it could easily be a coincidence.

But if you do a google search on Frankenstein Speaker, this thread is 4th and 5th in google results, and it's 8th and 9th for Frankenstein Candy Bucket.

So anyone searching for those items is likely to end up here.

I've seen this happen before.  We start talking about a piece and then it shows up on ebay.  Sometimes the description even mirrors language from our posts.  I don't know if that's the case here, or what difference it really makes.  Like I said, another Frankie Halloween bucket was on ebay just a few weeks ago.  These things pop up, especially close to Halloween.  I wouldn't be surprised if we see one or two more in the next five weeks.

We see it happen on MC quite often too. We'll be talking about something, values are asked and then bang, it shows up on eBay.

I think that's pretty enthusiastic pricing on that Frankenstein bucket auction on ebay. I see that more as a $350 piece. $599 seems kinda nutty high for what is not really a 'rare' piece.

Next time I have the chance to get one in the $350 range, I'll take it.  But $500 is still more than I want to spend on it.

I sorta have some of my holy grails. My most coveted single piece would be a MOC Brother Mortimer Kooky Spooky. I have him loose without his banjo, but a MOC piece would be one of my all-time holy grails. I would of course love the entire set MOC! And if I could get my hands on the original mail-in haunted house for the Kooky Spookys, that would probably be my #1 holy grail.

I'd also love a complete set of Mint Mego Mad Monsters and a MIB Mego Mad Monster Castle playset to display them in.

Other holy grails include a MIB Capt. Lazer from the Major Matt Mason line and a MOC set of Colorform Aliens.

Not exactly a toy, but what I'm hoping to get....

I like to try and hunt out stuff I had, or at least lusted after as a kid. A MOC set of AHI monsters I think, no big thing but for me the best Monster dolls ever made!

A vintage 1964-6 original finish Don Post first series 'Calendar' Mask. I think this is as rare as it comes when you are talking about commercially released masks (some examples nearly unobtainable) and something I've wanted since childhood more than anything else.

Street Worm

New guy here-

& mine is just a full set of MPC 'Pop-Top Horrors' !

followed by a (working) Ideal Robot Commando (whose not really a monster, but.......)

followed by a trailer full of other stuff~

My monster kid Holy Grail is complete sets of CREEPY, EERIE, VAMPIRELLA, and FM.  All I need is the FM's numbering in the 20's, and the UNCLE CREEPY mask, and I'll be in complete MONSTER HEAVEN.  Unfortunately the recession has hampered things financially for me.
