I just know if I go see this, I'll hear Bela Lugosi echoing in my head, "Poe, you are avenched!"

I like Cusack and I'm ready to see this.

I'm glad they are making horror movies with a gothic flair these days.

We're all here because we're not all there.

Creature Features

Definitely seeing it.

Count_Zirock

At least Poe doesn't seem to sparkle.

Creature Features

I put this in the same vein as Sleepy Hollow...sort of an alternate take on the main character.

Howler

I am really looking forward to this movie. Definitely going to check it out this weekend.

I'm torn...it could be fun. I just hope it's not too much like RDJ's Sherlock Holmes films in flavor.

I hope not. Poe was no action hero, that's for certain. Even with his West Point training, he was usually either too high/drunk/hungover for much more physical activity than putting pen to paper.

Yeah I've taken a few college courses on Poe and that's why this movie baffles me.  Poe is the last guy that should be the lead in a movie like this.  If anything he might be the villain....nah scratch that.  He's not evil, I think he was probably just a douche lol.  He had a few years where he was a decent guy when he was married to his teenage cousin, but then he died and Poe fell from grace more or less.

At the very least, Poe shouldn't be sober at all in this film.  And any "good" he''d do would probably just be for booze money lol.

Oh, and Gary Oldman should have played Poe.

Howler

Gary would have been a great Poe!!!

Certainly a better Poe than he was Dracula. But, not "action hero Poe."

I didn't like "action  hero" Sherlock Holmes.  What's wrong with a hero who actually uses his intelligence?
