These are "discards" from a 1940 photo shoot.  I picked them up years ago, and just found them again when I was looking for old membership cards!  The photographer's envelope is dated Jan. 12, 1940, followed by Lon's name, and then, under REMARKS, is written "Discard".  Not sure what the shoot was about, but Lon is emoting quite a bit!

(I'VE REMOVED THESE PHOTOS--not because I don't want to share, but because I've decided to give them to the Chaney family.  As they are unpublished and have not seen the light of day in 67 years, as far as I know, I thought Ron Chaney should have the photos to keep in the Chaney Family archives--to publish or not, at his discretion.  If you saw 'em while they were up...HOORAY!  If not...well, maybe in some future publication.)

I think he's reacting to something taking place over at one of his "tribute groups". I can't say anymore because I've said too much already.  ;)

Hmmm?  I have no idea what you're talking about, General!  But here's a nice Lon postcard photo I got from Ron Chaney in '96 or so.  More typical of the kind of Lon image we usually see....
