FACTO2

For some odd reason I'm reminded of Gibbs building the boat in his basement on NCIS.  Can't wait to see it finished (yours, not the boat  :) ).  You know you have to find some way to bring that to Wonderfest.  Flatbed truck?  Stick with it, buddy.   :)

Wonderfest? Yeah that would probably be the ultimate and last stop for it someday. It does break down into sections so I will find out what size truck this August when the work in progress travels across the river to New Jersey for Jerseyfest. Something a little bigger than a step van I bet. Thanks for the encouragement my friend :)

Yeah you know working on it full time would actually be great. It's treat  sometimes to go to work on it. Sometimes it gets monotonous, but most times not. Although I am wondering how ALL the painting is going to go once I get to that stage. Going to ask for some help I think!

The monster hot rods got into it sometime around the first 1/3 of last year. I wanted to make it more fun anyway!

The Diorama of Miracles made it's first (very much in progress) public appearance over the weekend at Jerseyfest. Probably 5-6 more years to go I would say though!

That is so cool Robert.  The anticipation of seeing this finished is killing me! :P How hard was it to transport?  I know you have been building it in pieces to be able to move it easily.  I'm sure this dry run helped point out any inadequacies if there were any.  ;)

Seeing it finished.....ahhhh that will be a day to be remembered in my life. It was a good amount of work to transport it. Had to build crates, had a couple of problems with dis -assembly and assembly, but like you said it was a test run to find out that stuff anyway. I was also able to place it in a big room and step way back to get a good view and that made a BIG difference. The room I build it in is not big enough to step back more than a couple of feet so seeing the "whole Enchilada" so to speak was very useful in assessing what works and what doesn't.  All in all it was a very positive experience and it has me psyched to get a LOT done on it during the next year!

You should just quit your job and devote every waking moment to this. To quote Steve Martin in "The Jerk", you've found your "special purpose".
