Frankenstein meets the Wolfman, I also still have the weekly reader book of it from my youth.

I have to agree but for me it's b/c of the memories of waiting for Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman to come on the Saturday night Chiller Thriller movie. The anticipation was delicious, and us monster kids spent the week debating who would win! Of course nowadays it's for the Song of the New Wine, which I tend to sing to myself when I don't realize it (the hardware store, etc.)
Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.

For me, it would be FRANKENSTEIN as well...because it was true Horror.  It, and Boris, scared the stew out of me.  Colin was magnificent as well.  To be able to convey genius, madness AND fragility in a "fairy tale" character is truly wondrous.

I love them all for different reasons. The first two are fantastic but Son is so beautiful to me. The look is stunning. Karloff is amazing and Bela... as much as I like Bela in Dracula, in SOF/GOF he gets to play his greatest creation and he is superb, IMNSHO.

So, Son  just inches out over Frankenstein and Bride.

Son of Frankenstein is about my favorite. I love Basil Rathbone's portrayal and the introduction of Ygor, one of the most deceptively complex characters.

Regarding "Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman".  In the book "It's alive", the screenwriter said the film came about as a joke he had made.  When asked about a film project that could be done, he suggested "How about 'Frankenstein wolfs the Meatman-I mean Frankenstein meets the 'Wolfman'. "  Later on the Universl bigwig told him he was to write 'Frankenstein wolfs the Meatman-I mean Frankenstein meets the 'Wolfman'.

Love them all but have to go with Son Of Frankenstein (fave scene when Ygor is summoned to court). Followed closely by Frankenstein and Bride Of Frankenstein - the scene with the blind hermit is priceless!

I can't make up my mind between Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein. Love them both, though if I have to choose one, it would be the Bride, since it was my first Frankenstein movie I've seen.

I go with Bride, but I love all of them all!!!

The Bride for me! Just love that movie!  Buddy

If I vote with my head, it is the original Frankenstein.  It's already been said but this has so many classic scenes and moments.  This is where the iconic legend starts and everything else follows.  This is where it started folks.

But, if I vote with my heart, it has to be A&C meet Frankenstein.  This is the one I watch the most.  I also love A&C and even though this is a comedy, it has its drama moments as well as pathos.  The monsters were played for real for the most part.  This movie is just so much fun.

Dr. Madd

My favorite Frankenstein films, and I consider myself a huge fan of the universal Frankenstein series.

1. Son of Frankenstein- First with Ygor, and it brings Basil Rathbone and Connects the story beautifully.
2. Bride of Frankenstein- Praetorius- Nuff said.
3. Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman- Two monsters under one marquee. How cool is that?!

Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein. Two amazing an iconic films.

I voted for "Bride", and I see it's doing well in the voting.  I'm not suprised that many here have stated "Son" as their favorite, because it is an excelent film with a great Lugosi performance; I am that it hasn't recieved a single vote.
