Thank you veterans. Your courage and sacrifice have allowed us to enjoy the freedom we have to gather here whenever we want to. Let's not forget that, in addition to remembering, we also have a duty to live good, honorable lives in memory of those who have lost theirs.

As a Canadian, I'd also like the incredible service of our American neighbors. Quite often, it seems like your overwhelming contributions during the First and Second Wolrd Wars, Korea, U.N. missions, and in the defence of North America gets forgotten amid the politics, ideology and economics of the moment. Disagreements can make allies come across as sounding ungrateful for the huge sacrifice of your men and women. Please be assured, there's plenty of us who don't forget.

Finally, there's only a small handful of countries in the world who have sent their troops to fight for the freedom of a country other than their own. I'd like to honor all of them, from countries large and small, for their gallantry and sacrifice.
Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.

Beautiful words, Pauspy!  :)
My little brother is in California as we speak, getting some specialized training with the U.S. Army. He's in the reserves and has been gone from his job and family for a month, but we are thankful that he will be home soon, unlike some of our fellow countrymen who are away for far longer periods.  May you all be blessed with the wonderful things in life that you so greatly deserve and thank you for your many sacrifices.

Growing up as a Navy brat during the 50s was probably the best childhood I could have asked for. Besides being a helo flight instructor he flew Corsairs and Hellcats off of five different Carriers WWII and Korea. Thank you Dad and every person that's ever pledged their sword to the defense of Freedom all over the world.

For all who have served, thank you.  You should be honored all 365 days a year.
