William Bendix appreciation-the original Big Galoot

Ok, I know Bill Bendix isn't a horror movie actor, but he appeared in so many movies over the years, I just had to start an appreciation thread for him. My favorite role of his was in the Hitchcock movie Lifeboat, where he played "Smith" (Schmidt), the wounded sailor who gets killed by the nazi captain. He played in countless war movies, sports movies, comedies and dramas, all the while being likeable as the kind of lug you'd want to have living next door to you! Thanks for the memories Bill!

Any other Bill Bendix thoughts or other "big lugs" people enjoyed watching?

Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.
