how many hours do you watch tv per day? this includes movies,tv shows, and video games or anything to do with television.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

hmmmm- slayergriffith, I usually have the tv on all night on Cartoon Network or Boomerang because it gives me a sense of well- being. But I'm not always watching it, so I would guess 4-5 hours per day. Except when my grandson is over and we watch a Clone Wars Marathon or a movie.
In conclusion  :)   I would say a movie or 2 per night and a some cartoons add up to 5 hours max.  But not all at once.
If I found the "right" channel with awesome 50s, 60s, or 70s reruns, I'd watch a lot more tv!! I HATE all of today's tv "sitcoms" where everybody is mean to each other or making fun of people. AND I hate police or medical shows, so there aren't many things left to watch. Gimme some Gilligan's Island and I'd park myself in front of the tv all weekend   :)

I watch 7-10 hours a day in the summer and winter.
The reason i watch so much in the summer is because I can't take the heat outside. But in the spring and fall, i watch about 4-5 hours of tv. I can't help it, im a tv addict  ;)

We recently got direct tv, just so we could watch True Blood on HBO, but I don't really know if I like the show...but I keep watching it.  I just watch it because my brother does, but I wonder if he and his wife watch only it because I do?? GAH!!! I need to investigate this further! It doesn't hold my attention, so I'm wondering if you need to read the books to really get the show. Anywho.... I'm turning it to Boomerang!

I prefer reading to watching TV, but when I do watch it's usually DVDs.  Televised TV, almost zero.  Too much reality crap on.

that's what I mostly do also. I usually watch stuff on dvd or stream it instantly off netflix.

Monday-Thursday about 1-1.5 hours a night.
Fri-Sunday I have a tendency to watch late into the night so up to 8 hours. So if you average it out 4x1.5=6 and 3 x 8= 24 and 24=6=30. So divide 30/7 and we get 4.28 hours a day.

Usually 3-4 hours a night, if I'm home. Apart from Daily Show and Colbert (often skipping the interviews), it's DVD or streaming movies (and some older TV shows). Sometimes we'll have the Food Network or History on, 'cause  they're about the only things my son and I agree on.

I'm also good for streaming some MST3k at least a half-hour a day.

I agree although I'm a bit of a fiend for news. I find i need to hear stories from at least three sources before I can get a somewhat accurate picture about what is happening. Too much biased "reporting" on the news for my tastes.
Supernatural, perhaps; baloney, perhaps not.

Illoman

I, too would rather read than watch teevee. I usually put on the Reds game, mute it and read, and just check the score periodically. The only shows I enjoy watching are American Pickers, Pawn Stars and old Warner Brothers cartoons or Tom and Jerry's. Cable is my wife and kids primary source of entertainment, or I'd just as soon get rid of it.

Scatter

Hmmmmmmm...........I vary quite a bit because I work 2 jobs. I guess I average maybe 4-5 hours. Frankly, I love TV, but not much of what's current these days except for documentaries and shows like Pawn Stars and American Pickers. The rest I spend on DVDs of old movies and old TV shows and streaming Netflix (also of old movies and old TV).

I agree with my buddy Charpie........so much TV today is either salacious,or mean spirited, or both. I'll pass.
We're all here because we're not all there.
