Gingerbread has to be an obscure band. Never heard of them. Probably didn't make any real $. Still cool as far as girl groups go.

"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

Sticking to the topic , since most of you know me as a F'N METAL HEAD I think I'll surprise you. I LOOve avante garde forms of music mostly metal/industrial.

My FAVE genre which is very hard to find is a hybrid of black/industrial with bombastic orchestrations. I love this band but can't find the cut I really want to show ya. Add in the previous with dark marching band and Danny Elfman mix and there ya go. My Fave genre.
I'll post a video or two a day and hook ya up with stuff you never knew existed , at least most of ya.
It starts out as French street music and totally changes several times. At 1:18 it KICKS in.The concept of the CD is based loosely on works by H.P Lovecraft.

The Wicked - To kill a friend

WAAAY on the other end of the spectrum ,if you dig anything close to classic ELP,from 1994 I bring you Par Lindh.

W.L.- You know I love that band!!!  After you posted the first song, I looked up info. on The Wicked, but didn't get too much. :)
They really hold my attention and work my brain into a frenzy! I usually have a short attention span, except with classical music, so I guess this band is juuust right for my musical needs.  I'm gonna keep looking for a way to get me some of The Wicked in mp3 form. I would love to listen to them while driving solo!
Thanks again and I look forward to more of your mystery music  :)

WHOA!!! I wasn't a big PeeWee Show fan, because we didn't have cable- hahaha!! But I'm familiar with Paul Reubens and I know he does a lot of cartoon voices and he seems like an awesome character actor......but I NEVER would have guessed that he had a mugshot photo! It must have been from the 80s or 90s, before we had cable tv like the rest of the civilized world!! The weird thing is, I grew up watching 5-6 hours of tv a day!! But when I had my little ones, I only let them watch 1 hour a day of educational programming until they were in kindergarten!  Hahaha- I was a mean ol' mom!
yea it's from around July 1991 when the Pee Wee's Playhouse show was on a break, his arrest really damaged his career, but strangely he had a ton of support from fans and actors like Bill Cosby for example

I just read all the imdb & wikipedia info on Pee Wee Herman. I had forgotten that he was the voice of the droid on Star Tours at WDW! He's an awesome talent and seems pretty cool.  1991......yeah, I really didn't keep up with all the goings on like I try to do now  hahaha!! I had little kids then, so we were probably busy and we never watched the news or had the internet. Poor dude! I'm glad he put all that behind him and kept on truckin!

Wicked Lester

I'll leave you with one more before I make samich and go to bed. Can't tell you how many times I consumed "certain" things in the 70's early 80's and just tripped out to this iconic album.

(The System of) Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether

I just ordered two of their CD's off Amazon. One I had ,burned and stupidly sold, because it had a couple bonus tracks not available anymore. At least I have those on CD-R.

W.L.- You are NOT going to believe what I was listening to when I clicked over to this page!! I was playing Sinister- To Mega Therion-
hahahahaha!! So weird! I was playing the first part to convey to my husband what our dishwasher sounds like and then I just kept listening! I am loopy anyway, because I'm waiting for out of town guests and they aren't getting in til midnight. But anyway, coincidences are cool  :)

They did very well in Europe ... in the 60's if a British band toured the U.S. .. An American bad band had to tour G.B. in exchange .. Goldie and the Gingerbreads were often 'exchanged' for bands such as The Animals and The Rolling Stones ..

Here are some old posters of their European tours ..
