I have a fun story about how the Cryptkeeper scared the wits out of me.  I worked in a movie theater and was cleaning after the films ended.  The Tales From the Crypt demon Knight movie was over and I was cleaning while the credits rolled.  I was alone.  Suddenly I heard his voice boom out "What are you still doing in here?"  I turned around and the Cryptkeeper's face was in close up on the screen.  His head turned to the side and he raised his eyebrow.  I almost responded when he started doing a plug for the next Tales movie.  Then the credits started up again.

Sorry but if the Cryptkeeper isn't in it, don't even bother calling it Tales From The Crypt.  The decaying host was every bit as enjoyable as the stories themselves.

Agree completely.

As much as I love the Crypt Keeper (we share a groan inducing fondness for puns) I could see a series that used a toned down version, like the old British film. What concerns me more is the idea of it not being an anthology. I don't really see how you would have a single story arch and still have "tales".

By the way, I loved the opening to the old show....

I agree with Uncle Creepy, Scatter, and Sean.  It won't be the same
